Sounds like you have a broken trackball. Go to your carrier, they might replace it for you for free. If they refuse,the only way to get it up and running again is to open your blackberryMy tracker ball is not working is there any other - 2_bing.gif to physically replace the part. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to Blackberry Repair. If you want to do it yourself, here is a Blackberry curve Repair Guide that shows how, the part is available on Ebay.

How to replace lower control arm on 2000 chevy tracker

Remove the ball joint nut. Use a hammer and hit the spindle where the ball joint goes threw it. It will release eventually. Remove the sway bar link and the bolts(2) holding the control arm to the frame. Pry bars and a hammer help. Knock the new one in place and reinstall.

Cant get my ball to work

usually all blackberry phones with ball trackers experience this type of problem due to overuse

if you can fix it on your own,do it with care cause some parts are to sensitive.

* need a T6 screw driver

* open and unscrew all sides where the screws are located

* locate the track ball and dismantle it

* clean and align the board interface which the ball tracker is attach..

* assemble it with care....DONE

good luck....

Won't scroll down but will scroll up, have tried turning it upside down & rolling the ball around but it didn't help

Have you tried cleaning out the inside where the ball sits? If you flip your mouse upside down you should see a circle around the ball that should have "open" and "close" arrows. Spin the circle towards open and once it stops spinning flip it over -- the circle and the ball should fall right out. Take a look at the 2 straight bars that sit on top of the mouse ball -- one is for horizontal movement, the other for vertical. Most likely, there is a buildup of dust and debris on them (it will probably look like a grey spot that covers the center of the bars). Remove this debris with your finger-nails (as they will not scratch the bars themselves) and then wipe them with some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel. Once the bars are clean, drop the ball back in, and put the circular cover back on (don't forget to lock it in place by spinning it to "close".
This SHOULD resolve your issue. If it does not, there may be a problem with your mouse's movement sensors ... which would most likely mean that you should buy a new mouse (they are pretty inexpensive these days). If you have to buy a new one, I recommend grabbing an optical mouse -- it has no moving parts and will prevent this problem in the future.

Ball joint wear

u joints will flop around if worn. just block the wheels so it doesn't roll and put it in neutral. Grab hold of the driveshaft and see if you can wiggle it around. If the ujoints move, they are wearing out. Should be little if any movement.

To check ball joints it's a little more difficult. You have to first jack up the vehicle, then jack up the 'wishbone' to get the spring load off of the ball joint. Then try and move it around. You can get a Chilton book which will show how much and how to measure with a dial indicator. That is, if the ball joint doesn't just fall apart on you.

The ball won't scroll down

Pop the ring around the track ball out with a small blade or your finger nail. Three double prongs hold it in place (bottom and both sides, none on top). Turn device over and gently tap the back. Track ball will release once ring is removed. At this point you can view the track ball and see exactely what is causing the block. Clean if needed with q-tip or remove lint/debris/etc... Just did this with my 8830. Working perfectly now. - {would not scroll down at all prior to}
