Just a stab from here, but I wonder if your battery is shorted? Does the unit work off battery alone at all? Probably not. If you remove the battery, does the unit operate normally off the power supply? Perhaps that is difficult to test if your supply is bad LOL. Without making some voltage tests and testing the current draw of the device, one is shooting in the dark.

You have something much more serious to address before you replace the female xlr fitting. I have never, in 12 years and hundreds of issues with chargers and such, never saw a burned connector. You need to figure out why it burned before you restore it, otherwise you are going to toast another xlr connector, or worse, yourself!

Laptop charger smells

Laptops (esp. older ones) should never be left plugged in 24/7. You need to stop using the charger (the problem is only in the charger and NOT the laptop?) and replace it. The burning smell is something overheating which can lead to a fire and sparks are rarely a good sign.

I'd cut the cord on the charger, so it can't be used again and replace it.

Need a 3 position switch for a Schumacher model se-2352 battery charger

Search for 3-position rocker switch
Use google and google image search.
Quick search shows 16 amp switches.
Probably the switches inside charger control contactor or relay.
Or connect directly to a circuit board.
The board might be bad, or relay points burned.

My acer aspire 5738 charge only works when i toggle the charger head and if i move the laptop it stops charging, i bought the laptop second hand 2 months ago. thanks in advance for any advice given :-)

The DC jack, where you plug the power adapter cable, might be loose or defective, & needs to be either re-soldered or replaced.
In order to do this, the laptop needs to be disassembled & the motherboard taken out. Also, the motherboard needs to be checked for defective/burned out components in the area near the DC jack. Any defective/burned out components found should be replaced, or you might need to replace the laptop's motherboard altogether.

Alternatively, the charger wire just next to the charger head might be damaged.
Some wire has frayed apart and is making intermittent contact with itself. This could be fixed by either replacing the charger with a new one, or replacing the charger head & the few centimeters of the wire connecting it to the charger & re-soldering a new charger head instead.

I put my makita 14.4 battery on the DC14SA charger and left it for most of the day. There were two blinking green lights showing when I checked it.Now it doesnt run my driver. What is the correct way to use...

it sounds like it could have burned out the battery, maybe killed one of the cells. replace the battery and let it charge for no more then 8 hours. 4 for a "quick" charge.

My battery charger will not come on.

Pop the cover and check the fuse in your power supply.
I've fixed more than 1 dead device by simply replacing a fuse.

While you're inside, also check for anything burned up/blackened.
I've fixed more than 1 dead device by replacing whatever burned up.

Next post, include model number of your fast charger, how old it is, & how much use it gets.
Since this is a home-use type unit, I assumed home-use: intermittent use, 5+ years old.

Battery charger burn out.

If you have one of those little testers that has red and black wires with prongs on you can test by touching the metal areas on your battery. The red is positive and black the ground.
