Question about GE DBSR453EBWW Electric Dryer

1 Answer

GSM2100G02WW/SH791112B We had a new GE dishwasher installed in February, 2006 so it still should be covered under the original warranty. The problem we are having is; water doesn't drain completely out of the dishwasher after a complete cycle and there appears to be some kind of build up on the inside of the door, possible mold? Is there some kind of cleaner I can run through a cycle to clear this up? Maybe de-limer? Sometimes, the middle cylinder stays in an upright position after the cyle and I have to manually push it back down. I especially want to take care of the standing water inside the unit when not in use and the mold on the inside of the door. Any help would be appreciated.

Cleaners are available from Lowe's home depot appliances parts stores etc but it sounds to me like you have a drain problem check your drain line where it attaches to your sink and where it goes into your sink for blockage take off the bottom kick plate and you will see a black solenoid with a silver shaft and a white plastic rocker and spring make sure that the silver shaft moves up and down freely if not replace that seloinoid or call for service

Leaking at the bottom of a GE dishwasher

If it's under a year old, it's under warranty, just call 1-800-GECARES and they'll send someone out to replace the door gasket. If it is over a year old, you need to replace the door gasket. There are small black lines that extend beneath the door into the body of the dishwasher that will be replaced when you install the new gasket. This will seal the door so that you no longer have anymore leaks.

Dishwasher won't turn on

make sure you have nothing blocking the door to the washer, reload or empty the dishwasher and try to start it empty.
I couldn't figure out why mine did the same thing. I spent $$ on a repair call. The service man rearranges things and it started.
Just figured I would put my 2 cents in.

Door won't open

Call the store where you bought it or the GE repair service, you should be covered under warranty, this should not happen on a new machine.

Please remember to rate this solution.

Ge dishwater problem

I was trying to find a simple solution so I wouldn't have to wait all day for the GE repair man. The dishwasher was still under warranty, I called GE and the repairman was to arrive between 1 and 5pm today, He arrived at 4pm and determined the valve was bad, he replaced it and it works fine. I did basicily waist my day waiting for the repairman, I'm glad it's now working. Woody.

New microwave problem

If it is new and under warranty, I would refer you to GE so they can fix it free. See the phone number in your owner's manual or at

If it's not under warranty, below is info that should help you.

Manufacturers used to include access panels in the rear or side so you could easily change the bulb. That exposed the customer to 110V connectors, and that posed a real liability threat, so they stopped using them.

You now must generally remove the outer cover to replace the bulb.

In many over-the-range models, that can mean having to take the oven down from the wall! For safety's sake, that should be a two-person job and it's really helpful if you have your original installation instructions to do this.

For GE & Hotpoint models see

Many models use one halogen lamp to illuminate the cooktop and another to illuminate the cavity. You must not touch them with your bare skin as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Dishwasher conitues to fill even if unplugged

If the dishwasher is filling with out the power on, you have a defective inlet water valve. If it's new, have them repair it under your warranty. If not the part number is wd15x10003. Easy fix, on the left side behind the toe back.
