All dvd players will work on any tv,

how ever depending on what your connections are on the back of the tv you may need to buy a special adapter to hook the dvd player up.

if you see a yellow, white, and red plugs that say "input" near them on the back of hte tv, or you see these color of plugs on the front of your tv your good to go.

if all you got is the normal cable screw jack, then you will have to by a RF Modulator. The one below is from rca. what it is lets u plug the red, white, and yellow cables form your dvd player into it, and then it turns it into a regular cable that u can hook into the box then the back of your tv.

My dvd player only plays back in black and white, no color. any ideas?

If you haven't done so already try connecting a different DVD player (or some other device) to the same part of the television to see if there is color. You can also try changing the cables connecting this dvd player and the television. If there is color on another device then you know that the problem is with the DVD player. If there is color with the same DVD player when you have changed the cables then you'll know that they were the problem. If the television does not play in color no matter what (DVD player or tv channels or anything connected to the television with all different cables) then you'll know it is at fault.

Need to know how to hook up a Toshiba DVD player to a TV

Hello,

To hook up a toshiba DVD player to a television, you need to get the prongs, that you will use to hook them up.

You have a prong with red and white tip, locate the audio out on the DVD and plug in one of the prong in it then locate the audio in on the television, then you plug the other prong in the video out of the DVD player also you plug it in the video in of the television.

That is all you need to do, then you ensure you have your television on the AV mode to enjoy the DVD player on it.

Take care and good luck

I have Directv I don't know what step I am missing when I turn on the tv, then turn on the dvd put dvd in but somewhere there I am not doing something because when I hit play the directv is still on. The...

The DVD player is plugged into one of the television's input channels, and the satellite is plugged into a different channel. You will have to take either your television's remote (not the staellite remote) or find a button on your television itself, and press a button that says "input," "source," "video," or "TV/VCR" and find the correct channel on your television that corresponds to the DVD player. If you give me the model # and manufacturer of your television, I can tell you exactly which button to press.

Very Very Low volume.

The line out jack isn't amplified. Try using the headphone jack. You can control the volume using the controls on the dvd. Whatever source you are plugging it into doesn't have an amp powerful enough to boost the audio.

DVD player not working

It could be that the DVD player has a bad home switch in the dvd player or that it doesn't know that the door is closed. I have run into similar situations with CD Players years ago. Also keep in mind to unplug unit and let sit for 1 minute to let microprocessor reset. Let me know if that helps. Thank you ...Jay
