I used superglue to attach a magnet to a a snug metal post,I put the magnet in backwards and want to get the magnet out? Can I use acetone based nail polish remover or olive oil or another product to loosen the metal on metal from crazy glue?

I'd soak it in acetone. Wonderful stuff, but quite flammable.

The only thing you could possibly try is jewellers rouge or glass polishing paste, If the lens is glass you could try acetone ( nail polish remover) but it will dissolve any plastic so I'd put your chances of success at close to zero with that if there is plastic nearby. The lens is ruined, move on.

Superglue remove


nail polish remover painted on with a nail brush will most likely do the job. .super glue doesn't like acetone so if that doesn't work paint on acetone very carefully.

My mum decide my sewing machine need oil but instead of oil she accidentally has put superglue instead.. Honest mistake.. Is there any chance I can fix this or do I bin it.. Please will try anything...

My 3yr old put nail polish on my flat screen tv and it's not a glass screen tv.


Use regular acetone based remover... worked like a charm on mine. No evidence the brown polish was ever there!

G'day mate well Acetone (nail polish remover) disolves superglue (sino acrylate original designed as a medical product for 1st aid) maybe go to the cosmetics counter at the department store and see if there is a 'softer' alternative for removing the likes of nail polish, hope this helps
