Question about Samsung HLN617W 61" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Picture problem I am looking at buying a 61" DLP rear projection, but the problem with the t.v. on sale is that it's picture is extremely dark. The note on the t.v. says that it has a bad picture, but the picture is in fact crystal clear. The only problem is that the picture is dark. Is there any way in fixing this, I messed with the blue green and pink levels but nothing worked. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Re: picture problem

You need to replace the lamp to fix that issue. The lamps part number will be on the side of the TV. The part number will vary from set to set deending on which light engine it has in it. The part number will start with BP96-0???. It is a user replaceable part.

I'm at an estate sale looking at a used Sony

As a guess, 400.00 to 500.00 if it does work. if it doesn't, it would be a no go. Since it is a Analog TV because of it having Picture Tubes, there is not much of a demand for it.
Hope this helps,
