There are several reasons for this to happen.

  1. Heater element faulty.
  2. Thermostat faulty.
  3. Heater relay faulty.
  4. Blocked condenser.
  5. No cold water going in on drying cycle.
You really need a meter to test the components with, to get the bottom of the problem.

Thanks.

Hi:
Another thing to try, if your dryer vent hose checks out ok, is to wash your lint catching screen with some dish soap and water. If you use dryer sheets, they can actually cause the lint screen to be waterproof, and hamper your drying. You can tell if it needs scrubbed if you pour a little water on it,and it beads up, instead of running thru...try this, it is a cheap fix that helps your clothes dry!

In my experience with a Kenmore electric dryer, excess lint caused poor airflow & clothes don't dry.
If you are using corrugated plastic or metal duct, replace it with smooth metal duct which doesn't collect lint as readily. If this is the type you already have, clean it by pulling a towel through it.
If this solves the problem, great. If not, unplug the dryer, open the back & vacuum inside & inside the vent outlet. If you can take the this apart it makes cleaning inside much easier.
This worked for me, and seems like a reasonable first step before paying someone to clean your dryer.

Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 Washer/Dryer. After a cycle clothes still smell as if there is stagnant water underlying somewhere yet machine has been looked at - nothing wrong. Still working in excellent order...

You can buy a liquid product (I got ours in Lidl) that flushes out and cleans the machine. If one application doesn't work try it again. It's just like cleaning out the dishwasher. Worked for us and it was really smelling!

Hotpoint WD63 not spinning correctly

Two things to check.
Remove rear cover.
Remove large black hose onto drum
Remove and clean filter inside hose.

Next--remove top cover and check the brushes in the motor, if they are less than 3 or 4 mm long, then replace them.

Thanks.

The first problem is that you, like myself, bought this piece of trash. The best way to resolve this problem is not sell it on ebay and never even think about buying Hotpoint again.

Door Locked. Cannot open. Washine inside.

Try buttons "dry" & "spin" together for a few seconds. This is the child lock display.

Or press "end of cycle" for over 3 seconds.

Or press "options & select" till the light goes off.

Works for other machines..............And please rate me if helped

Dryer problrm

The sympoms are typical of a couple of reasons.
  1. Blocked condenser.
  2. faulty cold inlet valve, not letting water in to condense steam back to water.
When it is on the drying cycle, see if you can see water pumping out of the drain at. a slow rate.
If you can see no water at all coming from outlet hose, then chances are it is a faulty valve, and you will have replace same.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Dryer keeps stopping

Plugged filter or exhaust hose to outside could be clogged...Have someone turn the unit on and go out to see how much air is coming out of the vent. Should be a bunch. I'm guessing you have a blockage somewhere causing the unit to shut down and not catch on fire.
