Question about Gateway 3250S PC Desktop
Most new HDD come with imaging software that will allow you to "clone" the old HDD and transfer the information to the new HDD. If not, you will need an imaging program ie Norton Ghost, Easeus Todo Backup (free). These will take an image of your old hard drive and place the image on the new one. There's a link to Easeus Todo below:
Free Easeus Todo
The best way to run the program is to leave the old HDD installed as the master and install the new HDD as the slave. Run the imaging program and create the image on the new HDD. Once done, remove the old HDD and place the new HDD in the #1 slot (making it the master on the #1 spot on the ribbon cable. Moving the jumper to make it the master may be needed depending on your system) Once the new HDD is the master, reboot. The PC should boot normally. From here you're free to partition the new hard drive. Once you've ensure you're operating normally, you can make the old HDD a slave and format it for normal use.
I hope this explains and answers your question. Best of luck!

The absolutely best thing would be to connect both drives to the computer and install a fresh windows into the new drive, then you can copy your files from the old one into the new one once it is done. or you can keep them both connected.
Another way would be to clone the old drive into the 750GB drive transferring the windows and everything into the new drive.
here is a list of the cloning software available
You will most likely have to purchase one of the programs to get the job done.
If you would like me to recommend one, then I would go with
it costs 50usd, its a program to keep, not just a single use program, but honestly its hardly worth the 50 usd for just one computer, I would go with the re-install of windows, that doesn't cost anything.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

Tips for a great answer:
Where I can find I want ?
We don't release any firmwares.
Because the product has been already optimized with its own
IDE (PATA & SATA) drive does not need any drivers. You just have
to make a partition and format your drive for using.
Please make sure whether you had partitioned and formatted.
First of all, you must partition and format for recognizing the new
drive in the Windows Explorer.
Within Win98 series, please use the Fdisk.
Within Win2000 & Win-XP, please use the Disk Management.
When installing Win2000 or Win-XP, the installation process
includes the partitioning step itself." etc.
