Check the small plastic sheets in the front of the drum. If they are worn down, that's your problem but there are two wheel bearings on the bottom of the dryer drum, depending on your model. Hope this helps, Good Luck...

How do I stop my Whirlpool Imperial Series Dryer from squealing when it starts

You should be able to open the top of the dryer by gently prying up on the front of the dryer at the point where the top and body of the dryer meet (don't chip the paint). There should be a metal clip, pointing down, at each corner that snaps into two holes in the top of the dryer body. The top of the dryer will pivot up and back. You can see the drive belt and drum. The drive motor will be below and to one side of the drum. You can clean the path where the belt runs around the drum by turning the drum by hand, and check the belt for cracks, brittleness or a shiny appearance. A cracked, brittle or stretched belt will require replacement. I removed the belt from my dryer, and it was not cracked or stretched, so I bought a product called rubber drive restorer (from an electronics shop) to recondition the belt and reinstalled it.

Changing dryer belt on kirkland/whirlpool dryer took apart dryer but dont see where belt suppose to mount.

Hello. The belt goes around the tub and the tension pulley. In fact, it is always a good idea to replace both the belt and the idler/tension pulley at the same time. J.

If you want a schematic go to and enter your model number. J.

Bosch dryer lights up when turn on nut drum does not spin

The drum spins around by the belt surrounding the parimeter of the drum. A tensioner is also part of this system. You may have a broken belt although the belt usually squeals before breaking so I think the tensioner is at fault. The top would have to be removed then the front panel next to gain access to these items

remove the drum by pulling it out to replace the belt. replace the tensioners pully as well for it has a bearing that wears out then squeals loadly when old and dried up

Dryer doesn;t spin

Sounds like the belt has broken. The terrible noise was probably the belt slipping until it gained traction.

Replace bearing and bushing g.e. profile dryer

Yes, but you will have to swing the top open, remove the dryer front, and pull the drum forward about 4 inches (leaving belt on drum) to gain access to the bushing. Normally that is all you have to replace, but also check for wear on the front drum slides at the same time.

Dryer belt replacement

Take the top panel off by slideing a putty knife about 2 inches in at the front and releasing the tabs. remove screws from top of front panel after top removed. also remove 2 screws from inside of front panel on both sides about 4 inches down screwing back into front panel. pull front off and slip belt through opening. Feed belt around drum and put tension on the idler spring release onto belt. reassemble unit.

Drive belt replacement on a Miele T230C tumble dryer

You must route the belt either in front of or slip it behind the drum to get it down to the drive wheel. You should remove the front panel to be able to do this the best.
