Question about Mozilla Firefox

No images in facebook using firefox 3.5.5

After updating Firefox to version 3.5.5, Facebook no longer shows graphics or images. It's like the entire page is in text instead of html. Is this a Firefox flaw or do I have a setting that needs to be tweaked?

Thanks for the tips. I downloaded and installed both but I still get the same screen. I've also reset my machine.

I've taken a screen shot of the Facebook page. Is there a way I can post it here?

Worked for me:

Firefox preferences, content tab, command button "exceptions" across from "load images automatically", removed the url: "sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net". Facebook images now load perfectly and completely.

There wasn't a 'sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net', but there was a 'profile.ak.fbcdn.net' which I deleted. This occured because my Firefox updated from 3.5.5 to 3.6.16

    Works fine after deleting file.

Hi,

You need to update the Adobe flash player software and your java scripting software.
You need this software to view the whole content of the Facebook website.

Download and install java from here >>>>>>

http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

Install Flash player from here >>>>>>>>

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

You may need to restart the computer for all the changes to be made but in most cases just install the software and you should be good to go straight away.

Regards.

    Hi,

In the box where you are typing do you see an icon of a picture of a tree next to youtube? If you can click on that and navigate to where the picture us stored on your computer, select your picture and click OK and it will paste itself in the box.

    Or use www.flickr.com

Open an account and post your picture of the screen there. when you have done that copy and paste the link from your browser address bar here so we can have a look.

This could be related to the Internet browser you are using to access Facebook. I would recommend updating to the most recent version of which browser you normally use (Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox)

After loggin on to facebook, its only the page header and its content that is shown every other part of the page is white blank, Its the same using both firefox and internet explorer

Have you tried deleting temporary Internet files and cookies? If you haven't, follow the steps below:

Firefox 3.5 --> Open Firefox>Tools>Options>Privacy>Use custom settings for history>From the drop-down list, select Show Cookies..>Remove All Cookies
Firefox 3.6 --> Open Firefox>Tools>Options>Privacy>Remove individual cookies>Remove All Cookies
IE 8 --> Start>Run>Type: inetcpl.cpl>OK>General>Delete>Make sure Temporary Internet Files and Cookies are ticked>Delete

Make sure you have the latest Java version on your computer. For more info about Java and to download latest update, go to this site.

You can try a number of different solutions which have worked for some people:

Solution 1
Clear your cache and delete all of your cookies in your browser.

Solution 2
In your browser, type in the address bar http://www.facebook.com/login (which doesnt exist)
This will take you to a different login page which reads: "The page you requested was not found."
At the top of this page is a login box. Try using this login box to login to facebook.
.
Solution 3.
Download Firefox 3.5 and used that instead of Internet Explorer.
here is the link for downloading it
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/personal.html
.
Tip: If you are using the Adblock extension with Firefox, and subscribe to an ad list (basically a list of known ads online), it blocks a special site (fbcdn.net)
that Facebook uses to login.
.
Tip: Go to: http://www.facebook.com/login.php (the page you are having trouble logging in) and click on the
Adblock Stop Sign on top of Firefox, and you will see in red a url that includes
fbcdn.net. Right click on that, and add an exception for the entire fbcdn.net domain.
Reload the page. This should fix the problem.
.
Solution 4.
Use a Proxy Server to connect to Facebook.com
1. Search Proxy in GOOGLE
2. Select Proxy Server
3. Type in facebook.com (in the proxy server webpage)
4. login into facebook account
5. (although all games will work but Farmville may have problems loading)
.
recommended Proxy Server >http://www.youtubeproxy.ws/
.
If you found this information helpful, please give me a big thumbs up when you rate my answer. Thanks.

When logging in facebook an error appears...

Hi,

If you are using IE - Clear the cache and cookies. Make sure you have the updated Version. Even if you are using Firefox or Safari, you need to have the updated Version. Clear the History, logs and cache from the browser.

If you do not know, how to clear it, let me know. You need to tell me the browser and the Version. You can swap the browser. If you are not using Firefox, Download Firefox and install and use it. Check if that could fix the issue.

Make sure you need to Turn off the Firewall for few minutes till you check this and also make sure, you have a Valid Internet Connection :).

Let me know the update.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
