Re: Driver for Vista

Well this is a confusing line of thought...

To get things straightened out, I think some more clarification is in order.

I was under the assumption Vista automatically downloads drivers (at least, in my case). I'm assuming it's not working on your computer.

But, if you go to this link (if it doesn't display I'll try something else):,en?softwareid=3916&osid=13

It contains the Logitech Profiler. While this is (in my opinion) unnecessary to the operation of the joystick on XP, it's all that's listed besides the calibration utility (also unnecessary, and that dates back to 02') on the Logitech website.

I wouldn't readily recommend downloading drivers from third-party websites.

Worst case - you probably purchased it recently, so just contact Logitech for assistance (they're supposed to be very helpful.)

I have a Vista and I can not use the mazfighter f23u joystick (genius)

Yeah Vista is not friendly with a lot of Pre-vista hardware and software. Go to the manufacturers website for your joystick and see IF they have the Vista Driver you need for it to work on your vista machine.

Once you download the new driver, go to:

Control Panel
Device Manager
Find your device
Right click, and it should give the options to "change Driver".
It will ask you to choose location or have windows search for it
Specify where you downloaded the new driver to and hit enter.

It will ask you to restart machine and after that it should be good. Again, IF a driver for Vista exists.

Wingman ff gp gear paddles not showing gears,no power from gas pedal, Vista 64bit,configures wheel and buttons ok. 4 years since last used on win xp cheers

The drivers were made to work on XP, but I think I found one that may work on Vista for the steering wheel.
Now I am not sure whether it will work or not, there are alot of complaints for the wheel's pedals not working for games, but all the buttons working. Go into the control panel and look for the menu for controllers and input devices. Make sure all the settings are correct.

Just loaded flight sim to m/soft vista and have lost the driver disc for sidewinder pricision 2 joystick. Is this unit compatable with vista? If so, can someone direct me to the best free driver download...

Sorry it will not work with vista.

Operating System Requirements: This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:
  • Windows 98
  • Windows 95
Additional Requirements:
  • Windows 95/98
  • Pentium 166 or higher
  • 16MB RAM
  • USB port
  • DirectX 7.0 or later
You can try this also

Usually, Windows will find and automatically install the necessary drivers when you plug your game controller into your computer.
• Plug the game controller into the USB port on the computer. The computer can be turned on when you do this. Windows will recognize the new hardware and set it up to work properly.
Note: Controllers that use game ports (and other ports) are not supported in this version of Windows.
Try this second:

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

1. Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.‌ If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

2. In Device Manager, locate the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

3. Click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver and follow the instructions.

Vista and Logitech Force Feedback Joystick Wingman 3D

I tried the above link and it works fine, on a 32-bit Vista. But if you have a 64-bit Vista you might want to try the 64-bit version of this driver, just search around Google for it. Fixed the problem I was having with this joystick not working correctly in Vista (no feedback). Now it works great.

Drivers Emach T5230

I solved this problem completely later that day.
Here's how:

From the Emachines site I downloaded and installed the file:

This dirver is for vista but it must also be for XP because it really worked well.

This can be found at
click on: customer care > product support and downloads.

Then select desktops, T-Series, and T5230.
By clicking the plus sign [+] next to downloads below you will see a list of drivers including:

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver

be sure to click on the Driver File Download (36.29 MB) and not just the readme file.

download this to your computer and run the self extracting install.
Then right click on the MyComputer icon (on your desktop or windows explorer) and choose Hardware tab and Device Manager to verify that the RealTek audio device is working properly.

You'll see the other broken devices there of course.

I went to and downloaded:

nvidia is easy to navigate. Just click on Download Drivers

The GeForce 6150SE video card driver

From Option 1 select GeForce, GeForce 6 Series, Windows XP and click the Search button. Then click download now. to save the file to your computer so you can click on it there to perform the driver install. This made a huge difference in the quality of my display.

nForce 430 chipset driver installers

From Option 1 select nForce, nForce 4 Series, GeForce 6150SE/nForce 430, driver, windows XP. Then click search followed by Download Now to save the file to your computer for installation.

This took care of everything but the generic PCI device.
For that, I hooked my legitimate copy of Windows XP to the internet using my newly functional RJ-45 network jack and an ethernet cable and let windows find the driver for me. Which it did seemlessly. No More Yellow questionmarks in the Device Manager!

That was mostly painless.

I noticed that some quicktime programs didn't like my nVidia driver so I created an alternate hardware profile to use the generic windows video driver and that solved that problem too.

I didn't have to open the case on the emachine and I still have the Vista install disk that came with it if I want to go back.

I'm impressed that my games work fine on XP home when the didn't on Vista. I expected it to be the other way arround.

This controller is completely plug and play for windows xp operating system. The NEW HARDWARE wizard can detect it over the internet and install the driver automatically in windows xp. You can download the drivers for windows 98 that will make it operate however I'm unsure what the link is although i recommend the usual, google it ; )
