Without seeing the offending Lappie, with your discription, and operational squeezing, suggest your ram housing connection is faulty, requiring a little (SuperGlue) Joke!. Might work.?

Seriously are the ram chips located properly in their sockets?

If yes, then you are looking at a repair job if super don't work?. Also possibility that the ram card has a hairline crack?

I added 2GB of memory on a A55-S1063 satellite and all it does is beep a few time and not start up.

Check the Bus Speed of that 2GB RAM chip (333,3356 etc) it must match the other RAM Chip otherwise remove it and put 2 chips of 1 GB each.

Put two gegs of ram in my toshiba satellite a55-s1063

1. The ram you put into your computer man not be compatible with the computer itself. You can find out what kind of memory your computer takes by doing a google search or asking a technician at your local computer store.

2. You may have put too much ram in. www.pcmemorystore.com sells as its largest ram chip for your computer a 512meg stick. This likely means that the most memory your laptop can take is 2x512meg, or 1 gig.

3. The memory may not be correctly seated. Installing memory isn't rocket science, but you have to make sure you have the chips seated properly before trying to boot your machine.

If it's a BIOS password you forgot, you'll have to take it to a Toshiba Repair Center. Sorry, you're stuck.
