Samsung D900i i am trying 2 turn keypad tone off and i have a orange petrol can in top right hand corner please advise.

How to turn off the keypad tone for my samsung d900i

On the phones sides there are two buttons. Press the lower button severally and the tone reduction will be displayed on the screen. Alternatively, go to settings, then select sound profiles then select normal then option, edit then scroll to keypad tone then mute.

How do I change the message tone on my eternity 2?

Sound Profile
[Go to the top right corner and hit the arrow, switch to message]
Message Alert Tone
[see if you like there personal one's, if not.. choose one you have put onto your phone by hitting the "Tones" button in the lower right corner]
Choose a tone
And then SAVE!

How do I text message w/o the tones? I need to text quietly.

1. Go into the settings menu

2. Then select sound profile

3. Then select Normal

4. Then look at the upper right hand corner - select phone

5. The keypad tone is the first on the list - select mute

How to change message tone

You can try two different approach to change the message alert tone:

1) Go to menu display and light and press for widget

2) Tick sound settings box and click out to main screen.

3) pull across the little tap at the side of the screen and press the phone icon.

4)At the top right hand side click the little box and scroll down to New message

5) You will see a box containing Message alert type and another box with Message alert tone.

6) Just select a tone or go search for one by selecting sounds.


  1. Go to profiles
  2. Select new messages from the drop down list on the top right corner,
  3. Select message alert tone, choose sounds go to gallery and then
  4. select the tone that you want to set as message alert

How do i change or turn off the keypad tone on my samsung GT S8500 mobile phone?

Go to phone profiles, click red arrows on right of screen by Normal profile. Screen shows Normal Call alert type, Melody etc. It top left hand corner Incomi and a down arrow click on the arrow - choose Phon sou and keypad tone appears and you can switch off from there.

Samsung SGH D900I- cannot turnoff keypad sound

The steps are outlined in the article below:

D900 FAQ – How do I disable or mute the keypad tone on my SGH-D900? admin March 6, 2009 --> Note: In order to disable the keypad tone, the Dialing Display Font Type must first be set to “Normal”
To change the dialing display font type follow the steps below:
  1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
  2. Select Settings (9)
  3. Select Display Settings (3)
  4. Select Dialing Display (6)
  5. Select Font Type (1)
  6. Highlight either Normal or Theme, using the navigation keys
  7. Press the left soft key to Save the Dialing Display Font Type setting
To turn off the keypad tone follow the steps below:
  1. From the standby screen, press the left soft key for Menu
  2. Select Settings (9)
  3. Select Sound Settings (4)
  4. Select Keypad Tone (2)
  5. Highlight Off, using the up navigation key
  6. Press the left soft key to Save the Keypad Tone setting

go to >settings >phone profiles >the profile you're set to, touch the >> >in the top right hand corner it says incoming and a drop down screen, touch it >new messages

First you must go to sttings and then click on sound profile. It will display four on normal but the actual words on the left not the circle. After that is done in the corner of the screen on the right side it has an arrow where it says it and # options will appear click phone and the first option says keypad tone and that is how you change the tone :)

Hi and happy new year this should be easy to solve you need to go into settings then profile and then select the profile you use then goto the settings in the profile mode then their should be an option that says keypad tones turn this off then this should solve your problem let me know how you get on ok.
the silent profile should have this turned off anyway but using this profile means you will have no ringtones or anything so you need to alter the settings in the general profile once you change keypad tones you need to then activate that profile again then this should be solved good luck
