Re: water feature does not work
Unplug the female connector on tear of refrigerator on the side that feed the dispenser control. With a voltage meter place the 2 probes while some presses the dispense water control. You should get 120 volts there when the dispenser switch. Thanks Sea Breeze

EDIT: Go to the end of my reply and try the last suggestion first please? Sorry, I got ahead of myself.
You should cut off the water supply to the fridge and empty the ice receptacle then you can start removing the ice/water dispenser cavity while looking for the switch that the ice dispenser actuates to get the motor turning. I would start there and use a multimeter (VOM) to test the switch, if it checks okay I would then look at the motor that drives the auger (screw looking thing that moves the ice to the dispenser tube). Though, if you hear the motor running when you hit the switch? The ice could have just fused around the auger and gently as possible, breaking it up may be the fix the problem and you'll be good as new. Put your ear against the freezer door while pressing the ice dispenser switch to listen for the motor as it may be very quiet through all of the insulation without the noise of the ice that usually is getting pushed through? PS: I would try my last suggestion before emptying the bin and checking the switch and motor as if you hear the motor running this will tell you that the switch and motor are functioning.
PULL THE ICE DESPENCER OUT AND RUN HOT WATER OVER IT AND START FRESH . IT MIGHT JUST HAVE A ICE JAM, I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE, THE ICE BUILDS UP IN LAYERS AND WONT ALLOW THE TREY TO SIT IN SNUG TO THE MOTOR .. JAY THE POOL PUMP MOTOR REPAIR GUY IN LONGWOOD FLORIDA
You have a dual water inlet valve where your water supply connects. One goes to the ice maker and the other goes to the water dispenser by way of the water reservoir you mentioned in the fridge.
Open the door and hold the door switch down and try the ice dispenser. Do you hear any thing. You should hear the ice door open and the augur motor turning to turn the augur which pushes the ice out the door. If the augur doesn't turn Take all the ice out of the bin and try. perhaps the motor is too weak or the augur is locked up. Take the bin out and try to see if the motor will turn with no load. The motor is behind the back cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter when you try the dispenser. If you are, probably bad motor. If not ,dispenser switch or solenoid is not working.
I had the same problem. Your water line is frozen. Turn off your freezer and the water line will unfreeze and it will work. You can see about putting in a heater on your water line. There have been mixed reviews on whether or not it works. The water line just froze again, so I may try the heater.

Anything? Take the bin out and try. Anything? The motor is behind the back
cover where the bin sits. See if you get power to it using a voltmeter. If your
are, probably bad motor. If not dispenser switch.
It sounds like you have a failing relay/valve that wont stay open when current is passed through them, check there first otherwise your control board could have water/heat damage remove inspect and if necessary replace let me know how it goes :)
The auger motor and coupling in the rear may be frozen and won't turn.
Remove the ice bin.
Place a screwdriver or similar device in the forks of the auger and twist counterclockwise till it moves. The replace the ice bin and try again.
It will be difficult to move.
If that does not work. Turn off the fridge and use a hair dryer to hrat the auger gear and motor till it frees up.
Texas, sounds like your water reservoir is frozen up. Remove your 2 cripser drawers, you will see the reservoir behind them. Take a hair dryer and go over the tank and tubing ends. See if the water starts flowing. I find a lot of frozen water reservoirs on these french door models. They have a insulation kit for them. Catriver.
