Question about Mitsubishi WS-65809 65" Rear Projection Television

Component input makes all pictures black and white?

Hello I just found this website and I have a problem with my Mitsubishi WS-65809 65 in tv. I had my DVD player plugged into one of the component inputs on the tv. I went to watch a DVD one day and the picture was black and white. The weird thing is that it happened without the DVD player on. I know its not the DVD player because I plugged some of my other stuff into it and its still black and white.

Is this a permanent problem, or is it an easy fix.

Thanks, I need all the help I can get.

You can also check to make sure you're on the correct TV input. I've seen this happen if you use S-Video for example, and the TV is set to a composite input by mistake. If you're using S-Video make sure the yellow composite cable is unplugged.

What I am trying to hook up is a Wii console using component cable but get black and white image on a Mitsubishi WS-65313 65 inch Television?

Follow the color code green for green, red for red, blue for blue, ignore the yellow wire, also be aware that there is an audio cable that is red also that wire goes into the Right channel audio and the white wire goes to the Left channel audio

You should not have to "program" it. If DVD is HD connect it to the DTV input on the back of the set--if not HD DVD unit connect it to one of the other COMPONENT inputs the set has---

Component will have RED, GREEN AND BLUE INPUTS, for picture plus a red and white for audio---Component requires 5 connections.

Once you have the wires plugged in so they are the same at both the set and the player--you use your input button to go to that input.

The set you have should allow you to put labels on each input which is helpful.

If this information told you something you did not know, rate it as very helpful as I do this here for free.

Losing picture when screen shows a white background

Try switching to a different cable provider. I have had many problems with their a/v boxes in the past and have found they aren't very compatible with most newer tv's. Time Warner/Comcast boxes have worked great for me.

Also, don't listen to the electronics stores, they are just out to make money, although it may fix your problem, it is unnecessary.

Check your tv's manual for settings that may fix that problem, like "source refresh time" or anything to do with signal loss and refresh rates.

For more info, contact me.

Thanks for asking!

How can I attach an HDMI BluRay player to my TV

Blu-ray attaches to component inputs. Component cables are the red-green-blue cable and the red and white for sound.
Out on the blu-ray to 'In' on the TV.
Here is your owner's manual. see page 19

All inputs work except for the component videos.

When your tv shows a blue screen it not getting a signal!! In your mit's you have to go into the customer menu and turn on the input/device. The device control is on the remote, click over to input and activate (enter). Also, look into owners manual, the customer service at mit's will step you through it if you wish. Note: put cables into comp 1 (eg), make sure colored cables are correctly inserted, and audio. (red, blue, green) red/white; audio.

Scrolling lines

Try using a DVD though the component input (need a 480P out ). If the pix si ok I wouldsuspect the cable box. If the problem is still there I would suspect a video switching IC or a Leaky regulator.
