Zanussi ZWF14070 - concrete 'damper'

Is the Zanussi ZWF14070 supposed to have a concrete block on the rear of the drum housing (like the old models) or is it now considered redundant?

Moulded plastic 'spigots' still form part of the drum housing, but no concrete block is now fitted to the rear.

Hi my direct drive Kenmore washing machine shakes like a banshee when spinning. I have checked and all 3 springs are connected and nothing is obvious. Any suggestions on what else i can check?...

Hi knollman,

I personally feel there is something that these washing machine companies have to do in regards to vibration during spin cycle.
There are so many solutions :)

1. Balance the load of clothes when you put it in. If it's thumping during the spin cycle, stop it, open it up, move some clothes from the fuller side to the less full side, and see if that helps.

2. Replace the springs inside the machine which suspend the washing drum (open it up, take a look, it won't bite). Perhaps they're all saggy and this is permitting excessive vibration.
3. Put something under the machine to stop it from transmitting the vibrations to the floor of the house. A old sock folded several times and placed under each of the four feet may help. Rubber or foam (piece of an old yoga mat?) will also work.
However, the best solution would be in case all above would "NOT" help :)
In the market, there are anti ******** pads

Make sure you have properly installed the machine...

Other things that you need to check....
Most washing machines have a large weight attached to the drum, usually a concrete block. Most washing machines have a large weight attached to the drum, usually a concrete block. It's supposed to prevent too much vibration. Check that one or more of the bolts holding it on haven't come loose.

Also,
There are cases when people installing it hadn't removed the restraining bolts that were locking down the shock absorbers. Oops!
One other thing: some front loaders by spec are only supposed to installed on concrete slabs. You can ignore that (we do), but if you have a front-loader like that, you are going to have some vibration no matter what you do.

I hope this would help you.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Do rate the solution as "Fixya" if 100% satisfied.

Loud vibration on spin dry

This is caused by a defective washer drum rear bearing, this in turn damages the vibration dampers for the drum as well.

Is there a holding bracket on the washing machine? I have removed the lid and can see a concrete block but would not be able to remove it. I have bought the machine in Spain and have no instruction...

The concrete blocks are vibration dampers and must remain on the machine or it will go flying all over the house. Some machines come with restraining brackets fitted for transportation and these have to be removed before use. If the drum of the machine is relatively free on its suspension it means that the brackets have been removed already, if not, then look for brackets attaching the bottom of the drum to the frame of the machine.

The 2 concrete blocks on the front of the drum have come off. what's the easiest way to get to them to put them back on?

Are you referring to the two counter weights that are suppose to screw onto the front section of the drum behind the front concealment panel?

If so, these weights don't just fall off. If they just fell off, this means the mounting has failed. They are quite simple to install. They generally are screwed into place. Click here to view an exploded diagram of the unit. The counter weights are labeled as 321 and 322 on the provided diagram. Are those the "concrete blocks" you are referring to?

Zanussi Washing Machine - ZWF 14070W1 - Door Lock

Hello,
If there is water still in the drum, try draining it out with the emergency drain hose down by the filter, then take out the filter bung by turning anti-clockwise and pull out to see what has got stuck in the pump. After this is cleared the door should open and the machine should be ready to run again.

Hope this helps.

Loud banging in spin cycle zanussi aqua cycle

if you can get the front plate off you will probably notice that the drum stabilizer roller has either fallen off or is damaged. This part is replaceable and should be no more than 20 bucks.

Knocking on WM63

Hi there!

Yes , you need new dampers for it.

These are easy to fit from the rear. Look at online parts stores under your model, and you should get them delivered within a week.

Check also that any foam bumpers are still stuck on the sides.
