The phone may be sim locked means company restrict uses of another sim cards. U can only use specific operator's sim. To use another u need to root phone. Try flashing ROM.

The GPRS setting vary from phone provider and mobile phone, it wound be best to get try you phone carrier first ,else if this is not possible to tell you the setting I will need the follow information-

Mobile phone model
Phone carrier you want the setting for
The country you live in. (the signal type changes from country to country)

Internet settings varies from carrier to carrier, there is no definite or fixed settings, just contact your existing network provider for these settings they are often free of charge.
And as i said settigns are varying from carrier to carrier, so if you have two SIM's and changing them, so you need to save two settings, also acquire those settings from two carriers.
