I am trying to make a dvd from a HDD video cam to a sony DVDirect recorder VRD-MC3 and a message saying non supported USB devbice keeps comiong up. Can you hellp?

The manual of the DVD doesn't say much for models, say's sony HDD, sony DVD, so maybe it's not compatible. Do you have a memory stick for the handycam ? If you stored the video on the internal storage, check the manual to see if you can move it to the memory stick, then put the stick into the DVD player. Or you will need a PC to transfer it with USB, then get a memory stick and put all the video on in and not internal storage, if the DVD is not compatible with the handycam.

Won't come on

either power button locked out(some have that feature) or I would try to unplug the unit for while and power it back to see if it will reset.

I have the RDR-VX530 video cassette recorder/dvd recorder and a sony DCR-TRV520 digital handycam and i cannot get it to transfer the hi 8 video to a dvd. i use a dv in/out cord and not sure what the...

Check video input setting to DVD recorder...should be set to "External" or "Line". This should activate the video input jacks on the rear of the RDR-VX530 and allow it to "see" your Sony handycam.

Downloading video from Sony DCR-HC45 Camcorder using a 1394 Firewire. My PC is not recognising the connection. It did work at one stage without any problem but not any longer. What must I do

You have to go on Device Manager and delete the imaging device. Then uninstall old drivers and software used with the camcorder. With 32 bit OS (Win XP and Win 7 32 bit) install Nero 8 Essentails or any other video capture software. Do not plug in external device during install. After installation is complete, reboot your PC. Now you can connect your camcorder with firewire port and then open the nero software. Under video capture, it will detect your sony camcorder.

My HK dvd101 player reports "disk error" with every disk

Hello Fixya Team,

I've focused in on the location of the problem. ATT, I'm trying to find a replacement input control board from Harmon. Not looking good tho. It acts like a cold solder joint or a flaky connector.

Thanks for getting back to me. If I end up stuck, I'll get back to you.

Sony BDP-S300.

I had the same problem and sent an email to Sony. Here's the answer (it worked) :
Go to page 53 of Operating Instructions Manual and reset the player as indicated.

If you do not have the manual, here's what to do : Press Power On button. Power On light will come up. Now, Looking at front panel you have (at right side) 5 switches : Play, Pause, Stop, Rewind, and Fast Forward. Stop is the center switch.
Now, with Power On light on (it lasts only about 30 seconds), HOLD DOWN the STOP button and PRESS POWER ON button (the power on light has to be ON). This will reset the player. It worked with mine one.

Functionality in Europe

Hey taliadoros,

According to the manufacturer, this particular model appears to allow filming in NTSC format only. Unfortunately this means that in order to play any video footage recorded on this camcorder, the device being used to play the footage back would also need to be NTSC-compliant.

Please keep in mind that while some electronics sold in Europe may be both NTSC and PAL-compliant, it cannot be guaranteed that footage filmed using your camcorder will be compatible with all multi-format model devices.

Hope this helps you out.
