Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console
This can be caused by a dirty laser in the disk drive. Try cleaning the laser in the disk drive with a cue tip and alcohol. If this does not fix the problem, you may need to replace the laser. Contact sony and see if the unit is still under warranty with this site: https://service1.us.playstation.com/rma.htm?_flowExecutionKey=_cAB96F84F-8DB4-2C4E-3368-C3B01BB770F5_k8997F39E-B8B8-B1EF-51B9-162937A6B113
If the unit is not under warranty, go to www.wiredextreme.com. We are a console repair company based in Texas, and we can clean/replace the laser for you. We give a free diagnosis of the problem(besides shipping), and will call with an estimate of repair before any work is done. All our work comes with a 30 day warranty, and you can buy up to 4 years worth of warranty.
