Question about Microsoft Wireless Network Adapter Xbox 360 (SKWIFIX360)
This shit is frustrating as hell, Their is a solid red light on my wireless network adapter. I have high speed internet and wireless 2.4 ghz broadband. It's a Linksys(hoping this is making sense). When I go to network settings on my xbox then go to edit settings then I go to wireless. (follow me so far) Then I selected the first one at the top. It tells me to put my ssid for my desired network. What the hell is that? Also it tells me to put my wpa key in. What is that also. Where do I find this? And is this process difficult?
First off, The SSID is the name for your wireless network, and the WPA Key is the password to access you'r network this is usually set automatically by the router. However, there should be a sticker somewhere on the router, if not find out what you ip address is and go to it in an internet browser usually 192.168.-------- here you should be able to figure all of this out. If you are prompted for a password, try Username: admin and Password: password1or password. if this doesn't work look on the back of the router for a litle hole that is labeled reset push a pin or paperclip through tyhe hole and hold down the little button until all of the lights on the router flash, now the default access stuff listed above should wor.

6/10/08 Seems Xbox 360 issue with the red light is with the wireless adapter I just went to one store to exchange each one then decided to go to another store finally found one that worked. The reason that it's the adpter is that I had a friend bring his working adapter over each time and it worked then I had him take mines to his place every time to see if it worked and it didn't. The router was set to WPA, Xbox does read WPA, it 's very simple if you have wireless entering in the network setting on XBOX and add your SSID name and PW. You should be able to just plug in the adapter to the Xbox 360 and it should turn green if it turns red it's the adapter. From the info I am getting on th net seems a batch of bad adpters were made by MSFT.

I've been doing a lot of reading and I think you have to be sure that your network is setup for WPA as WPA2 is NOT SUPPORTED with the Xbox 360 wireless network adapter :(
