Question about GE WSXH208A Front Load Washer
If your machine is making louder than normal noise during spin it could be the failure of the basket. Mine is just under three years old and the basket became looser than normal in the tub. I diassembled the machine...a lot of work...and found the aluminum casting around the shaft and bolted to the basket had rotted away. It looks like it was attacked by the bleach since I had my water checked and its pH is fine. It is likely the root of the smell we have experienced with our clothes when they sit too long in the machine. I spoke with GE and they gladly agreed to replace the parts needed but it is a ton of work to install them. I plan to treat the new part with some zinc chromate if I can get some before the parts arrive. See the picture if it attached correctly.

Front Load washers have shock absorbers in them that keep the whole system balanced. PLease check all shock absobers and SPRINGS that keep this unit in balance. REPLACE any or all of these parts and then MAKE SURE that your washer is BALANCED properly by using a level.
