Re: Keeps Copying

Transfer is the problem...
you simply want to select the photos you want to send
and then send them to my pictures and maybe put them in new folders .
do not copy and send, that is where the coping is coming from.
Hope this helps

I am an 83 yr. old grandmother who needs instructions on how to use my Cruzer 2 GB Flash memory stick. I need to know how to set up my files and put them in order to transfer to the memory stick. Do you...

Hi grandMom:
Here what you can do
Plug your flash memory into USB slot
1) from desktop open 2 windows one for your USB flash memory one for the drive (C: B: etc...) then double click "sub directory" where you have file you want to transfer to USB memory;
Reduce the windows size on your desktop so you can see 2 windows.
then you can pick and drag file then drop it onto USB flash memory window. So you are done.
If you want to drag and drop mutiple files at the same time hold down "control" key and pick files you want to transfer (all files will be "high light" , release "control" key then move all selected files into USB flash memory window then release the mouse button.
Hope grandMom can do it. Good Luck

My Music folder suddenly deleted all the files in it, but the folder won't delete because it says it's not empty; however, it won't let me open it either. It keeps popping up an Error code 0x80070091: The...

You probably have a disk-drive with some "bad" sectors.
So, when you try to read the sectors that contain the directory for the 'My Music' folder,
that sector cannot be read, and thus Windows reports an "empty" folder.

It's probable that your disk-drive is about to _completely_ fail, not just _partially_.
Make a backup of what files & folders that _can_ be read.

At the moment you're just copying them to you trash bin.

Access the requisite file/folder on your external drive, RMB click, should give you a drop down menu. Choose the Delete or Move to trash option.

Alternatively, click on (highlight) the file then click on file at the top of your browser window and select delete from the drop down menu.

How many directory deep is the file going that you are trying to save? I believe the maximum NTFS file (location + name) of file length can not exceed 256 characters total.

Example: C:\user\documents\file.exe is OK

But: C:\user\documents\folder\folder\folder\folder\folder\this folder name 230 charicters long\file.exe BAD

Can not delete anything on maxtor basics 160gb

Open the drive through My Computer and right click on any file folder hat you want to delete. Choose Properties. When that screen opens, uncheck the box next to Read Only, click Apply, then Ok. See if you can delete the folder. If that works, then you will have to do that for every folder/file that you want to delete.

Data Storage

Make sure you are storing them in both places. I have a hunch that even though you are storing them in the my documents folder it is the one on the external drive that is storing them & when you are trying to delete the computer is reading them as stored to the external & is deleting from there. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
