I can not play xbox because security is to high how do i chance it

you need to give your xbox a static ip address.
on your linksys router go to internet explorer. browse to
default login is blank password is admin
go to Click the Security link near the top of the page.

Remove the checkmark from the Block Anonymous Internet Requests checkbox.

Click the Save Settings button near the bottom of the page.

Click the Applications & Gaming link near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forward.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Xbox Live 360 requires you to forward the following ports: 53,80,88,1863,3074. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Range Forward menu.

port forward the following ports up above to the ip address that you set your xbox 360 to.

I own an xbox 360 elite, and I am having problems connecting to my friends while playing online. A couple of weeks ago we were able to play online just fine. A couple of days ago we were not able to...

Are one or both of you behind a router of any kind that might have a firewall feature on it blocking you from communicating with one another. It is possible that the specific port used to connect the two of you has been accidentally blocked. Try resetting security on one or both of your routers, or try connecting directly to the internet by connecting your modem to your Xbox360 directly. Doing this will show you where the problem is, if it is with the router than going directly to the modem should resolve the issue. If this does not resolve the issue than perhaps there is something wrong with your settings on the Xbox. Comment if these suggestions do not help you and we can move forward with more possible solutions.

Good Luck!

I can play online with with my xbox 360 with some friends but not others. I think it may be because of my nat.

Verify you have uPNP enabled on the router and that should do the trick.

Your router may not support it, so if not, you can setup a port fowarding rule for TCP port 3074 to forward to the IP address of your xbox 360

NAT type

Here are two pretty good articles about NAT and Xbox (I assume you are talking about XBox here) from Microsoft:
What it comes down to, is that you have to open some ports on your router and forward them to your console. Go to,and find your console model. The descriptions are good and easyto follow.

In case you run into a problem with your Xbox, here is a link to Microsoft's troubleshooting guide:

Good luck and enjoy playing (hopefully soon)!

  • Find out what the ip address of your xbox is set at, this is done in the xbox control panel. Open up those ports to that ip address of your xbox. you will probably have to enter more than one entry for all those ports, make them x1, x2,x3 an so forth. save settings. and then go to your xbox and try to get online.

Here is a link that might help more.

My wireless XBOX 360 says ''not connected'' when I test XBOX LIVE

in this case you need to do a port forwarding, which is something like opening the specific ports on router so that xbox will communicate with internet
for that we need to know the ip address of xbox and port numbers for microsoft for knowing the port numbers and their range,so we can do a port forwarding on your router

I cannot connect to alot of my friends on xbox live and xbox live support says it has something to do with my NAT settings being on strict and i have no idea how to solve it.

Hi i have a satellite internet provider and im trying to set up my linksys broadband router so i can hook up my xbox 360 my problem is everytime i hook it up im getting no internet connection can you tell...

there are two things to be addressed in this case.firstly you have a satellite internet provider which can create consistency issue.then when you connect a xbox to router you need to do a port forwading on linksys router(port forwarding=opening ports in router so your xbox can communicate freely).in order to do the port forwarding you have to log onto router user interface.then go to applications and gaming tab, where you can do the port forwarding.
but before doing so,you have to contact microsoft to know the ip address assigned to the xbox and the ports(numbers) to be opened.
    thank you.

Router will not allow me to play onling games through xbox 360

If the problem has something to do with NAT firewall in your router, then you may need to open certain application ports for your XBOX in the router. You may check this link from Microsoft that talks about NAT firewall and XBOX live.

    Hope this helps!

allright do not worry about it seems some ports has to be forwaded in the router, normally 88- udp and other ports has to be forwarded in the router, get in touch with and the port numbers , that will fix your problem
