Dark lines printing. Nothing on printer, nothing saying drum low...any suggestions?

When printing photos, there are black lines running down the page? How can we fix that? We have only had this printer for a month?

black lines on back of paper; sometimes a mechanical smudge in the center. The lines near the sides seem to be clearly defined, possibly from a roller.

Try taking the cartriges out and then placing them back in - they also might be old and dried out.
