Question about Acer Aspire 6530-5143 Notebook PC
So, I have an Acer Aspire 6530.
I have the same problem with the Acer Crystal Eye webcam as you do and I really tried everything, from downgrading it to XP to downloading every single driver out there - I got the latest one and it says like "camera is busy".
After I restarted my laptop, it keeps saying it. Tried to go on msn and start a video conversation,it do shows me the camera is there but when I start it, it ain't working.
Could somebody please help me out, it's happening since I downgraded it to XP :(
Could Windows 7 be a possible solution?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I've just bought a 7720 and had the same prob. Because i had a limited software support i phoned them and they told me to remove the sample pictures from the pictures folder and any other photo's in there and try it. And it worked, i don't know what it did but i can now use my webcam with MSN

My first reccomendation is to get the newest driver pack for that webcam specifically.
Before installing, I would uninstall the webcam drivers you currently have, reboot, then clean install the new drivers.
A lot of the time, it's a driver error that can cause that kind of problem.

Make sure you are not running the Desktop Icon program first. The camera can only be used by one program at a time.
Now login to Messenger, and click
Tools > Audio and Video Setup, and click Next past the audio settings, and choose USB Video Device from the list. It should work after a couple of seconds. If that doesn't work, try the other device drivers from the list, waiting a couple of seconds each time, until you can see some output in the window. Then apply and you're ready to go.
It's the same deal with Skype, except it's in
Tools > Options > Audio Settings.
Hope this helps

Ypour cam needs to be setup with the msn program
After you start Windows Live Messenger,
expand the view by clicking on the square
on top left next to the red X.
Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the
right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click
on “Show the Menu Bar”.
Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on Action.
Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting
and follow the instructions.
Please let me know if this solved and don't forget to rate
