Do you mean the little light below the keys? Just hit the "FN" (usually on the lower left of the keyboard between CTRL and ALT key (you may have tapped it accidentally) and that will turn them off.

There is a combination of keys you have to hit to "unlock" it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any information online about that particular model.

Some forums said FN + DEL unlocks it, some said other keys.

    Try this:

Hold the FN key, and hit F11 (at the same time), that should turn off num-lock.

You may have to hit the shift key until the light is under it.

Then tap the FN, and that should turn off the FN.

    Let me know.

LOL, like i said, every manufacturer uses different key combinations to do stuff. You don't by chance have the manual, do you?

Hmm... try this hotkey utility from Toshiba. Maybe this is the answer :)

I agree with comment above - This does appear to be letting you know you need a new kepboard. and/or a new mouse. Sometimes you will also get a warning sound. Yes, the notebook will still start up, as there is nothing wrong with the motherboard/hard drive. but there is sort of a cool start up signaling system that catches your attention and lets you know what's wrong. If you look at the icons on the f10 and f11 keys you will see a keyboard and a mouse? or fan? these are the items that no longer function, although the motherboard itself still works.

Have you checked if the Alt key is working? You can try to plug in an external keyboard and try the Alt+F10, if it works then you're having a problem with the Alt key.

Hope this helps.

Trying to toggle from blue keys to white keys

You have to hold the shift key down and then hit the question mark key.

In the picture above the key is white but most of them are black. There are 2 shift keys at either ends of the keyboard with the trade mark up arrows on them.

Make first boot device as your CD ROM by entering in to the BIOS -- > Boot Device Priority. To enter into BIOS either try F2, DEL, F10. then after insert the CD in to the drive and then you can notice this on a black screen " Press any key to boot from the CD" then press Enter or any key and then follow the instructions as suggested on the Setup of Windows XP . Now you can format your laptop.

Keys Confused on logitech ultra-flat keyboard

You have to change the KB language to US-English. It seems that you got the European layout set up currently.

Go to Control Panel and select "regional & language settings". In the tab marked 'regional options', select "English (United States)" from the drop down menu. If that is already the selected option, then choose "English (United Kingdom)" instead. That should solve the issue.

Split keyboard & capslock shift function

I had a similar problem and noticed I hit the F Lock button. On mine it was a one way plunger stuck down. This caused the problems you mentioned on mine. Prying it up with a paper clip had my unit working immediately. Good luck!
