Playing music from playlist

I transferred music from my computer to the memory cardbut when I try to play them I get error M506: Unable to play song. What am I doing wrong

I'm getting the M506 error on my new RAZR VE20.  I put mp3 files in the card via my computer and they stop playing and report the error randomly. Things that DO NOT fix this problem include: firmware upgrade, reformat the card, different card, different song files, short file names. Those are all the things people are suggesting would fix this.  Why is it so hard to make a phone that just plays mp3s with ease- Motorola???   Why aren't your people solving this problem for us instead of leaving us on our own?  I may just bring back this piece of junk!  My email address is and I want a solution now!

Either you uploaded a .Wav file or another file that is not supported.
Check the file and make sure it is a midi or mp3

Problems transfering music from computer to phone

When you put them on your card they are just that on your card (may not show up on your playlist) Some phones (like my blackberry and pocket pc) you have to add them to the card then go directly to the memory card to play them from your phone. There should also be an option to add your songs from the memory card to your playlist. Try selecting the memory card (through your phone) and checking the options to see if one says ad to playlist. If not do the other way around. Go t your playlist and add songs (from the SD card) if should ask you from where and you can select the memory card. All else fails you can go to any cell phone store and they can do it (its easier to do it looking at the phone then over the

Unable to play playlists on my Hitachi MP3

You can try dragging the playlist into the folder that you open up when you connect the player and then you want to drag and drop music. Then drag the folder and drop into the music folder which means you are copying from the player to another folder on the player. This manages to solve the problem of the player re-arranging files alphabetically and may help your playlist issues.

Philips GoGear SA3245 - Playlists Not Showing Up on Player

Have solved this problem on GoGear syncing with WMP 11 by going to options on the device itself, then go to the "settings" option, scroll down to "PC Connection Preferences", from here you will select the check box saying "MTP" then back out of options and connect your device and go back to your WMP 11 and drag your playlists to the syncing area and resync your device. You should then be able to see your playlists under the playlist option in music along with the "playlist on the go" playlist.

Hope this will help!

Error message M506

I also had this problem and thought my music players were broken. The media players displayed the songs as 00:00:00 even when the file info read that it took up space and had a song length. The music player displayed that m506 error message.

I looked through forms for an answer, and I noticed I didn't try messing with one thing: THE BATTERY.

Try taking the battery out of your phone and putting it back in. It worked for me! My music players work again!
