Question about Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition

In DirectX Diagnostic Tool under DirectX Features, it shows that Direct3D Acceleration is Not Available. I uninstalled and reinstalled my Nvidia drivers and I no longer can run 3D software. Please advise.

Reinstall your video drivers. Also make sure that in 'Display Properties', your hardware acceleration level is set to 'Full'. Confirm that all DirectX / 3D features are enabled in 'dxdiag' as well. Make sure you have at least 32+MB of VRAM.

To uninstall video driver right click to MY computer >>>>properties >>>>Hardware>>>> device manage >>>> right click display driver>>>> uninstall.
Note: before uninstalling the driver make sure you got the driver cd or the software with you.

I need 3D accelerator

Direct3D is a component of Microsoft's DirectX graphics software and is one of the more commonly used graphics accelerators in PC gaming. Of course, before you can enjoy the benefits of Direct3D acceleration, you need to have that particular component enabled in DirectX. Fortunately for your gaming needs, enabling Direct3D acceleration is not an overly complicated process, and can be achieved in a matter of moments. Open the "Start" menu and type "dxdiag" into the Windows Live search box, then press "Enter." This will bring up the "DirectX Diagnostics" dialog box. Click the "Display" tab. Locate the "Direct3D Acceleration" entry. Click the "Enable" option next to the Direct3D entry. This will turn on Direct3D acceleration. You may need to restart your computer to make the changes effective. No hardware-accelerated Direct3D device were found . this the problem appears when I open my game. help me to solve this problem. or give me this kind of device.

depending on the windows you are using, the accelerators should install automatically, or else the system does not support or you can download the accelerators form microsoft and install them.

When i last install Adobe Photoshop its ok... but after i reformat and try to install its ok also... but when i run... IT says Direct3d not supported... on the last reformat the directX is working fine...

It's important to let me know the operating system installed on the system with the system configuration. I will be glad if you can at least reply my post with those info.
I guess you are running windows Xp with the chipset which doesn't support Direct X 10 or newer version. Or in other words, windows vista or windows 7 with incompatible chipset for directX newer version.

First uninstall the currently installed DirectX and reinstall Direct X 9. You have to uninstall the currently installed direct x properly, and it's also important to clean the registry after it's uninstalled. After it's removed, restart your computer and reinstall Direct X 9. That'll definitely fix your problem.

If you need my further help, let me know with the details i've mentioned above so that I can help you better and with easiest instrucitons/methods.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I had download project igi and it is showing that no d3d driver with acceleration

try

open start menu, then open run, then type dxdiag, on directx files tab

look for d3d8.dll or higher, if you can't see it then you need to install some drivers but before that

you need to go to display tab, then look for directx features see if the directdraw, direct3d, and agp accelecation is enabled, if not, minimize the directx diagnostic window, goto desktop , right-click select properties goto settings, adjust the resolution to 800x600 or higher, then change the color quality to highest 32bit, or higher, just don't do 256color bad quality it will disable the d3d,

then back to directx diagnostic windoow check again then test the directdraw and direct3d,

if it don't work you will need to update your video card driver, or buy a new vga card, with d3d capabilities, the higher the better,

note: some card may not be compatible with your board so try to google first for compatible parts

I'm having the same problem, not quite sure whether it is happending due to upgrade to IE 8 or Windows Installer 4.5 installation. Cleanup and re-install of Yahoo Messenger 10 won't help. The YahooMessenger.exe fails to initialize right during the installation process.

Direct 3D Driver Installation Or Reinstallation?

The HAL error is because you haven't installed your grafikcard so windows is using a defaultdriver. You need to download the drivers for your videocard.

I can't say what card you have, for that you have to read the productpaper that came with the computer or open the pc and check the card.

Most graficcards have either nVidia or ATI chips. Intel is the brand on your CPU (and some other stuff) but they dont do their own graficcards.

My advice:
¤ Check the manual/documentary of the computer and look for the type of card you have for your grafics.
¤ If you can't find it in any documentation. Open the computercase and check the cards for any card with a logo from either nVidia or ATI.
¤ When you find the correct card. Check for the name of the card. (could be ATI HD5670, or anything like that)

When you have all info on what card you have. Go to either nVIdia or ATI driverpage and select your card and download/install the driver.

Restart computer hand it should be fine.

Btw. at http://free.grisoft.com you can download a free version of AVG Antivirus. So you don't need to worry about staying connected.

Cheers and hope this will help.

If i open the game, the screen shows very big icons and no image

You are running a low budget onboard chip for graphics. This SiS chip is barely enough for running windows. In order to play any directx or openGL game decently, you will NEED to buy a dedicated graphicscard.

Look for an Ati or Nvidia with 256mb or higher.

My pc game keeps shutting down and keeps saying runtime error

1. Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, and then click OK. 2. Click the Display tab. In the DirectX Features area, make sure that DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct3D Acceleration are enabled.

Note Windows Vista automatically enables DirectDraw Acceleration and Direct 3D Acceleration if these features are supported by the display device and by the driver. 3. If either feature is disabled, click Enable next to the disabled feature. 4. Click OK when you are prompted. 5. If multiple video adaptors are installed on the computer, repeat steps 2 through 4 on each Display tab. 6. Click Exit to close the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

If this does not fix it then Tell us the game details - name etc:
