Th-42pd25 humming sound and faint picture

Sounds like an inverter transformer humming, not producing enough current to display a bright picture. Check the caps in power supply, next to the plug where it says 24v and goes to the inverter board on the left side of tv. Or check for bad connections on inverter transformers on inverter board, Thanks

Have a aprilair 550 for some time. Installed a new Lennox G61MP furnace and the technitions failed to reconnect the wiring that powers the humidifier. Need wiring schematic. Does humidifier transformer get...

Hello, yes the transformer will get a 120 volts from the Furnaces control board, there should be a terminal labeled HUM on the control board. You need to bring 2 wires one from HUM and one from a nuetral tap on the board to the line side of the transformer, this way every time the blower motor on the Furnace turns on the humidifier will aswell.

The unit now has a very low but noticeable humming noise when it is turned on... and does not go away. Its almost like a bad or obstructed fan? - christopher buchanan

This is a LCD tv,it dosen't have a fan inside this tv.The humming sound u hearing it is comming from the tv power supply board itself. Some how those high voltage transformers,in the power supply board are having gapping voltages tranmitting, when power up those transformers are going in and out of it highvoltage coils.Tries websites like, to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

I have a DGTEC 22'' LCD TV that has a high pitched hum when in the standby mode. This hum disappears as soon as the TV is turned on and the TV functions as normal. But as soon as it is put back to standby...

On the main power supply there are transformers that many times the factory will silicon/glue down to the PC board as these transformers with the right amount of voltage can vibrate or as you say hum. This can be corrected if you take it into a trusted TV Service Shop and make them aware of the issue so that they may be able to re-silicon or Glue these transformers better. Should be great deal of cost - usually shops have a $60 to 100, 1 -hour min charge.

Apex converter boxes malfunction.

If the converter box wont power on and makes a cyclic whinging noise, it may be one of the 4 470uF caps on the low voltage side of the power supply. Check for domed tops on the caps nearest the fly back transformer (center of the board). I replace all four of those caps just to be sure and it is playing fine now.
