You could get a can of compressed air, and try blowing any dust that may be present off of the Eye.
However if you open the Xbox you will terminate ANY warranty that may be in place.
I would try to open the disk drawer, and blowing air into that, however that might not be the issue.
If you do have a warranty in place, i would try blowing it with the compressed air, and if that doesnt help just giving tech support a call.
