Sharp 27sc26b crt tv has good sound but no video , however the on screen display works , therefore no video for a movie or add , but great sound , any suggestiond highly appreciated

Check the system settings. It sounds that video is muted. Enter into its Service Menu and check whether video is muted in its settings. Really this is a very skilled work, as knowledge about all function you see there. So be careful before changing any data values there.
Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in "Timeslide" option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. There are more than 1000 posts to different brand TVs now. Pull up older posts there.

Toshiba 32a43 32' picture garbled mess

If you can get the tv to display the blue blackground(usually happens when there is no antenna or cable feed to tv) check to see if the whole screen is a solid blue, if it shows discolored areas around the screen then you might have to "demag" the screen. See if you can rent a demad coil from a tv shop and with tv on turn the coil in circular movements all over the front of screen till blue is solid.good luck!

Can't receive pic and sound with converter box.

Connect the RF output of the Magnavox to the VHF/UHF (ANT) input at the back of the TV. Select channel 3 or 4 on the TV. An alternate is to connect the component output (red-white-yellow) to the Audio/Video In jacks at the front of the TV (the red or the white would be left unconnected) and use the TV/Video button on the remote to select that input.

Tv went boom

it sounds like the display may have finally gone out, however i would recommend to check other inputs (AV1, AV2, etc) by connecting a dvd player or game console. it may just be the one input that you have your cable box or coax cable connected to, so testing the other inputs will help determine this. if you get the situation with all inputs, no video but sound works, then you will either need to have your tv repaired or replaced.
