The light is actually to tell you that the safety has been activated. This is usually an indication that the heater is dirty and needs to be cleaned. Turn the heater off at the breaker and take the grill off. Use a hairdryer or a shopvac on the exhaust side and blow the heater clean. If this doesn't fix it the the heater will need to be replaced. The light indicates that you have an "X" model heater.

My cadet wall heater wont turn off

My cadet heater was doing this so I pulled it off of the wall and saw that the two wires coming from the thermostat portion had melted out of their insulation and were crossed. The heat is of some concern, but for now I just wrapped them in electrical tape to insulate them better against melting

Cub cadet lt1040. won't start. new battery. making a cliking sound when you try to start it.

I had the same problem the starter was the problem, found the stater will engage by itself not sure why but think it could be the wireing, or a swich. also check the solenoide it could be bad if the starter is bad.

Cadet wall heater

Since I don't know what model of heater you have there might be a reset button to reset or an over temp switch (button sensor with 2 wires going to it) that needs to be replaced. You might check the recall list to see if this one has been recalled and should not be used.

Not a cadet but a King

shut off the breaker, then, remove the front grill. look for a device about the size of a nickel. could be fastened to the upper case. this is called a klixon overload. there are numbers stamped into the side of it. one of these are either temperature or an amperage value. get a replacement from an electrical supply house. it is probably blown. it is in series with the element. its purpose is to open [then reset] when an increase in current is evident. it is a bi-metal device - two dissimilar metals that bend at different rates when current is applied to it and opens a set of contacts.
