My internet is on but each time i try to sign in to yahoo messenger it tells me there is problem with the internet connection

Maybe the problem is due to slow net connection. Goto Messenger->Connection preferences and select the radio button "connect via proxy server",under that select "HTTP proxy". Then in the bottom, select your Internet connection from the dropdown menu and press ok.

Then try signing in. Good luck!!!

I am unable to sign in to yahoo messenger but i can sign in to other yahoo functions like mail and webmessenger. the only problem is, is with the messenger. I have tried using a different yahoo id but i...

Install older version of yahoo messenger..
And let me tell your one thing that, when to try to login to your yahoo account on yahoo messenger, your internet connection must be responding. This you can ensure by keeping your server busy(opening websites).
The problem you are telling might be caused when you are trying to login to yahoo account through yahoo messenger and yahoo mail.
I recommend you that you open yahoo account through yahoo mail(only if you are unable to sign in to yahoo account through yahoo messenger.)
yahoo mail now-a-days is providing yahoo chat service when you sign in your yahoo account on yahoo mail.
at left side of your mail box you can see yahoo mini messenger.

You may be have 3 options to solve your problems:

Try this:-

1. Go to Messenger>Connection Preferences> then, you choose either connection directly to the internet or connect via a proxy server, and then choose type of internet connection>OK>Sign in again... let's try this, may be you can solve this problem. OR

2. Maybe, i think you should check your firewall settings. If you use Personal Firewall, make sure it allows your connection to receiving incoming connections and allows you to use yahoo messenger, check it out, may be it blocked your yahoo messenger. OR

3. Open your Internet Explorer>Go to File>Then, 'uncheck Work Offline', make sure your Internet connection is not working offline. Then, close Internet Explorer, try to sign in your yahoo messenger.

Good Luck!
