Question about Karcher K2.26 Electric Power Washer

Karcher K4.97M electric waterblaster cycling

I have a Karcher K4.97M electric waterblaster that has started behaving strangely. When it's powered on, but the trigger is not pulled, it continually cycles on and off (about a 2 second cycle - almost as if its building pressure but not holding it). With the case open, the valve that switches it off when pressure builds, is cycling up and down.
When the trigger is pulled, the pump runs continually as expected, and seems to all work fine, but the output pressure is very low.
It feels like its bleeding pressure internally somehow. I've pulled the valve assembly apart, but nothing obviously amiss (but then again, I'm still decoding exactly how it works!). Andrew

It sounds to me like the unloader valve is bypassing internally.

    Hello Karcher user world,
I have exact same symptoms as described by andrew142 above, with my 399M electric unit, but I am not sure if it has the “unloader valve” referred to. Can someone please describe where that component is

This sounds like it had water left in it and it froze over the winter. The motot turning on and off signals a water leak on the output side of the pump. You may have a cracked pump housing. Locate the pump and make sure nothing is leaking in that area when under pressure. looh for fine hairline cracks.

I have a K3.91M karcher waterblaster that has had little use and it pulsates at idle what is the solution?

A couple of other options spring to mind. It may be an air-lock, try disconnecting the high pressure hose and letting the water flow under its own pressure for 5 mins or so. It may also be a crack in the cyliner head...£16 from Espares..takes about an hour to strip and refit. you will need allen keys (to remove the cylinder head) and torx type screwdrivers for the casing.

I need to find a MKA 450-30 for a Masport electric waterblaster, The one in it looks like it has burnt out. I am in Wellington, New Zealand

I also have a Masport 2000 electric waterblaster (with a MKA30 - 450 Comair motor capacitor). The unit just stopped working, and it would appear to have no power.

Can't tell if the capacitor is burn't out though as it looks and smells Ok!

Karcher K 3.97M electric presuure washer cycles on/off.

Hi;
It has an internal water leak or a seal or valve is leaking air. These machines are warrantied for 2 years and that is about all you can expect from them. Having it repaired professionally would cost about 75% the price of a new machine. If you are handy enough to get into it yourself, e-mail me and I will send you a diagram. (firehead@rogers.com) Part prices are expensive in Canada but not bad in the US. I don't know about other countries.

My karcher electric power washer will not start-1800 psi

If you have used an extension cord with it you have destroyed the motor. If not, the bypass valve is stuck. On THIS diagram, section 2.1, part number 1 needs lubrication with a good waterproof grease.

Cycles, never builds up full pressure when trigger pulled

If you are sure it is not a bad o-ring and you have re-assembled it correctly then try this.

Part # 8 in the pump, karcher # 9.001-187.0 includes a small bullet shaped valve. It could be leaking. It can be carefully disassembled and cleaned.

Karcher k4.98 switching on and off

The machine has a pressure leak. Check for a cracked controll head or either a leaking outlet elbow. The machine will short cycle if the holding pressure can not be maintained
