Question about Philips HDD120 MP3 Player

Hdd120 on Vista

I have installed the software to put songs on my mp3 player and whenever I plug my mp3 player into my laptop, it says there is no mp3 player connected. But when I go on My Computer, it detects the device. I can use it on my dad's laptop but it detects it when I go on Philips HMM. He has Windows XP but I have Vista so I was wondering if it doesn't work on Vista.

Re: Hdd120 on Vista

I'm a bit late to the party here but the solution is to right click the shortcut to the Philips DMM and run as an Administrator. It all works fine if you do.

Re: Hdd120 on Vista

Sounds like you've answered your own question there!

There are known problems with some USB devices not working properly with Windows Vista.

I checked at the Philips website & there is not a new Vista driver for the HDD120, so the only thing you can do is to make sure your version of Vista is always up to date & whenever an update happens, try connecting your player again.

Fingers crossed, eventually it will work with Vista.

Re: Hdd120 on Vista

It will not accept downloads from my pc as its version of WMP is much older than mine and I am unable to upgrade it as the process is too high tec. for me. I have spent a few hours trying unsuccessfully on the Philips site. I have a Philips Gogear which is fine and have downloaded lots of music from Limewire so I do know how to use one. What do you suggest, please, because the item is currently useless to me ?

I have a Philips Jukebox HDD120 (20 GB) Digital Media Player and i would like to know if its software is compatible with the new Windows7 software? I don't wanna start and loose everything on it...

According to Philips:
The player does not support Windows 7.

It is because the player was designed before the release of newer technologies such as Windows 7. Given the technological design, a driver for making the player to support Window 7 is not possible.

The player supports Windows 2000, XP and Vista.

Computer doesn't recognize songs

I've worked mine out.
When I put the songs on my MP3 I used Vista, I then changed to an XP install and this is when I couldn't see the songs on my MP3 player.
When I went back to my Vista install I could see and edit the songs.
Now I have cleaerd it I can go back to my XP install and use it as normal again.
Basically you need to use the same version of windows you put the songs on with to edit them.

Computer wont recognize sansa clip mp3 player

Reformat clip with disk utility after looking at it like an external disk. Do this by turning it off. Puting it in lock mode. Hold down middle button as you plug it in.

I am mad at my Clip as it did the same thing.

Screen shot here:
Sansa clip not recognized.

Can't down load

Downloads from CD will work without problem. Downloads from a music service will be a problem, because this player does not recognize DRM- encryption. Convert those songs that won't work to Mp3 format with an Mp3 converter.

How do I get my Sansa e260 to appear in Windows Media Player (v. 11; Vista)?

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
