Probably itz either minor case of software corruption/improper ground/cpu fan..
or major case of faulty or defective main board/ram/daughter or addon card(s)..

..plz do check the following as in order:..
the Hardware part:..
1)a)in power on mode, open/unplug the data/vga cable of the monitor from cabinet..see if raster or 'osd' is appearing on the monitor screen..if so monitor is ok..else replace the monitor and see..[not applicable in case of laptop]..
b) in case of laptop try to get output from external display unit/monitor using vga port..if there's proper display in there..the problem is probably with either the 'lcd' or 'ccfl' or 'inverter circuit'..

2) if u hv a graphics card, replace with a standby or onboard and see..[not applicable in case of laptop]..

3) unplug mains supply..pick open/remove the cmos battery..check (above +3v)..resit..

4)see if the ram(s) is loose/faulty..open clean/remove carbon & or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resit it..or replace with a standby n see..

5) a) see if ur hdd is noisy or emitting any 'ticking' noise (like 'tuk tuk' or 'kirr kirr')..
b) or if the system is not supporting either the newly installed device or itz software/driver /firmware
if so, u need either a fresh os installation or ur hdd is likely to b replaced..

6)remove/clean dust neatly..dust is non-uniform in nature n may cause jam/short circuitry/excess resistance n many more..resulting an increase in heat..

7) open the CPU Heat-Sink with fan out of the socket..put some "Heat Sink Compound" (available in local electronics chip level spare market) between the cpu/processor and the CPU Heat Sink *** fan..resit/fit it tightly in position..

8)on main/mother board..see with a debug card for mb error..may bshort..look for defective capacitors(esp above1000mfd)/mosfets..go through the mb's south bridge n the circuit lie around atx connector..the crystal clock generator (if cpu isn't heating up)..

9) [in case of desktop] the smps itself may b defective/faulty..check the outputs of smps viz. 0v (black~ground); +12v (yellow); +5v (red, green~ps-on, violet~pg& grey~sb); -12v (blue); -5v(white); +3.3v(orange)..the 'oscillator and error amplifier ic', or pwm switching regulator circuit..look for defective protector-transformer/resistance (esp 4.7k)/mosfet..
check the battery n adapter [main power], in case of laptops..

the Software part:..
1)hv a licensed and UPDATED antivirus installed (i prefer avg/kaspersky, remember, without updation a full version antivirus is useless)..

2) download, install n run microsoft kb890830..http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en..

3) download n run Startup Control Panel..http://download.cnet.com/Startup-Control-Panel/3000-2094_4-10039330.html..'removeall the unnecessary startup items from here..(if u can't find what to remove, post me/us in ur comment with all the items listed in each n every tabs herein)..

4) remove all unnecessary software from add/remove programs..

5) download, install n run 'Advanced System Care Pro'..http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Pro/3000-2086_4-10399324.html..

6)disable the following:..
a)'Automatically Restart' right click on my computer->properties->advanced->startup n recovery->(un check on the) Automatically Restart;
b)'Error Reporting' right click on my computer->properties->advanced->error reporting->disable error reporting->(uncheck on the) 'but notify me when critical error occur'..

7) Increase the size of Virtual Memory, Initial: 1440; Maximum: 2880

if u r not a professional, always better to seek advise from ur system admin/vendor....

ASUS eee 1008 dead

First - re-seat the hard disk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot and go into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If it doesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty.
Then the hard drive needs to be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer or laptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioning computer/laptop again.

Trouble with my recorder on screen display show HDD Fail and when we try to play is blank what we must to do.thank you regard riyanto

The hard drive for the recorder is bad. That's why nothing plays during playback. The DVR can't get the video off the hard drive. You'll need to send the recorder in to be repaired and the hard drive replaced.

I lost the cd to have the program to my computer . what can i do to still pass the videos to my computer with out the cd or program?

Assuming you are using Windows, the camera will appear in "My Computer" as a disc drive. The type of drive is dependant in what the power switch is set to {HDD,DVD,SD}. Double click on the corresponing drive letter to access the video(s) stored on the camcorder.

ps. Make sure you have the power switch set to the location of your video files before plugging the camcorder into your computer. As you will not be able to change this setting once the camcorder is plugged in.

Laptop starts, fan runs, no hard drive led's, no audible hard drive activity, no display, then after about 5 minutes, switches off again

Here in this case, there could be 2 possibilities.

Possibility 1: You might have a to get a new HDD
Possibility 2: The RAM might have got loose

Under Possibility1: If you are able to get the initial display, then get into BIOS and see whether the HDD is shown in the BIOS. If it is so, then you should be able to use your laptop normally.

Under Possibility 2: There is a great chance that the RAM (memory stick) might have got loose. In this case, I would suggest you to take the laptop to the authorized service center and get them checked. If the problem is same as what I suspected, then you the service guys should be able to fix your laptop in just 10 minutes. And they might not even charge you for this.

In any case you could check out the RAM, because most probably this could be the culprit.

Problem viewing Panasonic HDD player on Samsung HDTV.

If you are connected using component cables, i.e. 3 cables used for video, you may have switched two of the cables. It can be hard to tell the difference between the blue and green connectors in dim light.

You should clarify this a bit more, but please make sure all of your fans are plugged in and the no jumpers are set to over-clock the processor. Also, double check that everything is fundamentally compatible.

Dead compaq laptop, no boot activity

Larnold..Sounding like you need to check the LCD Power Inverter Circuit board.. this is located inside the screen a long rectangular circuit board that sends power to the screen backlight & Display Panel.. Could also be a Bad Backlight.. Try Booting it.. Hold it up to a light and look closely at the screen.. If you see a faint image but no light, it is the Backlight, if Just Black No Activity then its most likely the Power Inverter, OR a Bad Video Card.. You can test the VIDEO by Connecting the laptop to a Computer Monitor or similar with the laptops VGA Serial port.. then Use your function Key and Switch to 2nd Display.....(one of your F keys.. ).. If it Shows up on another screen, Its a Display problem and not the video card... Hope This Helps alittle.. Cheers
