Contact them with the serial number from the media centre. They'll send you a software update disc free of charge. You just put the disc in the system, allow it to play and it updates the software. this solves this problem in most cases.
If not, it sounds like a drive failure - a repair is the only option and Bose are the best people to do it. Like all manufacturers, they'll quote a long date just in case - but normally their repairs department work faster than you expect!
