To incorporate the ability to 3-D effects a device is going to take a hit it's performance somewhere. That's the downside of purchasing new tech before it has had time to allow the development and integration of the new and old tech without hurting the over all performance.

Take a good look at Microsoft. To get that shiny new car smell out in the next gen of computers Windows, Win XP, Vista all seem to be lacking in something their predecessor's lacked. How in God's name can you make money by introducing a new OS that sucks worse then the previous OS.

Unfortunately this doesn't really solve your problems. I'm not really sure however what type of solution you are looking for though. Do you want to know how to force HP to find a solution? I doubt they will. They most likely believe the only problem is your unwillingness to change your business model to meet there products specs.

I'm not sure if this can help but you might want to check this site out. Just click the link below.
I know they deal with image quality control and consulting services. So they may be able to help with intigating the product and gaining better control over it's use. It's kind of a long shot but if your out of ideas it can't hurt. After all I'm not sure exactly how many scanners you purchased but if the figure of $22.000 worth of equipment is correct That a boat load literaly. So I would be trying anything to ghet the results I needed.
Good luck.

To the issue relating to the scanning question "can i scan at higher resolution with in less time that lower resolution" The answer is no you can not scan faster at at a higher resolution then you can at a lower setting. At least no on the same machine. Higher resolution equates to more information on the page. More information means more time.

As for you you need to speak to or how you return the device, you would need to speak with HP. is not associated with HP. Therefore it is impossible for anyone here to advise you on who can help you with this problem.
We give solutions to technical problem such as if you had trouble with the installation or an issue with networking the printer.

I can tell you that it is difficult to believe that they would be unwilling to help you after selling you $22,000 worth of equipment. If you spent that much money and have not achieved the results you were expecting then you should be contacting an attorney.

I have recently purchased HP SCANJET G4050 , before the purchasing of device HP executives said that it has 3-D effect and it takes same time to scan for any resolution means higher resolution also but now...

when you scan at 1200 dpi its usually over 100 mb which is a waste of time but it is great to use when you want something to be outstanding but the best resolution is at 600 dpi which is what my scanner is set to its good resolution but requires alot less data around 4-5 mb so it save time but its good to have the 1200 dpi for project that you want to impress or scan pictures but you dont have to use 1200 everytime hope my opinion was helpful:)

How do I get my computer to detect my HP G4050 Scanjet. I keep getting an error message that ''No HP product has been detected and Solution Center will now close''.

First you have to download and install scanner drivers, then your system will know it has a HP scanner attached.
Go to website, choose support and drivers, enter your model and choose a driver for your operating system. Download and run the downloaded file to install the driver, and plug the scanner in when asked to by the installer.

Hard to explain...

I just purchased one of these scanners secondhand, and I have the same problem. You're seeing the underside of the lid where the film strip conveyors and other mechanicals are located. The previous owner (original purchaser) had a piece of white printer paper taped to the underside of the lid in order to prevent this effect. I'm really baffled as to why HP didn't install an insert for users who don't scan photographic prints and film strips.
