Inside your toaster there are eight heating element plates six in the center and one in left end and one in right end.
Just switch on the toaster without any bread at maximum time and visualy inspect to see which side is becoming red and which not. Then you need to replace the element plates you see that they don't become red.
Remember that the two in center are the same called "CENTER" and the other two on ends are the same called "END"
They can easily be removed if you remove the bottom panel.
Good Luck

Kenmore dryer does not heat

Find a volt-ohm meter you can use.
Unplug the dryer and test the socket on the wall or on the floor for current. If If you have a 3 pronged socket, the two slanted slots should have 110 volts each, and the "L'' shaped slot is your ground.
If you have a 4 pronged socket, the two straight slots are 110 volts each, and the "L" shaped and the round slots are grounded.
If you do not have 110 volts showing on both slots, you likely have a blown circuit-breaker to reset at your fuse box.

Depending on the year of the dryer, you have the following things to check inside the back of your dryer.
Wiring, for burnt or broken wires, the heating element for a broken wire, and 2,3,4, or 5 thermostats.
Unplug your dryer and remove the back so you can see all the wires and the above parts.
One at a time, remove the wires from each thermostat and see if the thermostst is blown.
You can tell by setting the volt-ohm meter to ohm's resistance, that's the "Infinity" sign.
Check the heating element the same way.
If the thermostat and heating element are good, the needle will go up on the meter. If one is bad, the needle on the meter will remain motionless.
Each of the thermostats and the heating element are removeable, and replaceable.
Be blessed.

You have to put a lot of weight on the heat sync for it to boot up

I would assume that it's the cpu heatsink? Actually, it's a bad thing to put extra weight on the heatsink for it may damage the processor. The spring and locking mechanism of the heatsink is just enough to transfer the heat from the processor to the heatsink. Problem maybe on your processor not properly seated on the slot. Remove the heatsink assembly, and release or remove the processor from the slot. Check if there's a foreign object in the slot, a brush will do the cleaning. Reinstall the processor and the heatsink assembly.

Ge jsp42 electric range ..Oven heats up very slowly..sometimes can take one hour to heat to 400 degrees..Stove top also slow..

Check the voltage at the outlet. It should be 208v or 240v. check by putting meter probe into the 2/3 slots. NOT the U shaped,or round looking holes.Check one to another. Check tag on range for voltage of range. If you have 208v at the outlet and range is 240v the oven will take forever to heat, it is not getting the power it needs. If the tag says 230v either will work. On the oven tag it will say either 1ph, or 3ph. If it says 3ph you outlet should have the voltage mentioned above between ALL 3 SLOTS! If you get 120v when testing any slot, you have only 1ph of power. Keeping it simple, the ph, (or phase,) between the outlet and oven have to be the same.

The heating element doesn't work in two of the slots.

If its a Dualit model then you should be able to get it repaired. Generally replacing parts on a Dualit is not easy but spares are usually available thanks to the fact that its one of the most well known commercial toasters on the market. Google and see if there's a repairer in your area.

Light does not come on, nor does it heat up

Some fryers have safety switches on the heating element, this is so they can not be turned on when not properly installed into the unit. Check to see if there are grooves or slots on the side of the fryer which correspond to grooves or slots on heating element. Then slide the heating element into the slots on the fryer.
Safety switch in most cases can not be seen and can not be disengaged by hand. The heating element must be installed properly in order to work. It may be illustrated clearly in the owners manual.
Do not try this with out oil in the Fryer!!
