To use the power, you use the y to the x key, above the EXP key. To enter 2 to the power of 4, you enter 2 hit the y to the x key and enter 4 and hit enter.

To use percent function, you enter the percent key after the number. To calculate Interest, where Interest = Principal x Interest x Time. For example, if the principal is $1,000, the interest rate is 8%, and time/term is 4 years, we would enter 1000 x 8 Percent x 4. When the8 is entered followed by the percent key, it should turn into 0.08.

Good luck,

### How to convert percent to fraction

1% = 1/100

So in order to convert percent to fraction, divide the percent by 100% and reduce the fraction.

For example 56% is equal to 56/100 with gcd=4 is equal to 14/25:

56% = 56/100 = 14/25

- Divide the percent by 100 to get decimal number.
- Count the number of digits (d) to the right of the decimal point of the decimal number.Example: 2.56 has 2 digits to the right of the decimal point, so d=2.
- Calculate the factor (f) for making the decimal number an integer:
*f*= 10*to power d*

Example:

*f*= 10 power 2 = 100

- Multiply and divide the decimal number x by the factor f:
*x***f*/*f*=*y*/*f*

Example:

2.56 * 100 / 100 = 256 / 100

- Find the greatest common divisor (gcd) of the fraction.
Example:

gcd(256,100) = 4

- Reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by the gcd value:
Example:

256 / 100 = (256/4) / (100/4) = 64/25

1% = 1/100

So in order to convert percent to fraction, divide the percent by 100% and reduce the fraction.

For example 56% is equal to 56/100 with gcd=4 is equal to 14/25:

56% = 56/100 = 14/25

On calculators you do not usually get percents. Instead, you get values which can be converted to a percent. For example what percent is 245 out of 987. You divide 245/987=.248. This is essentially the same as saying 24.8 percent. You move the decimal over 2 values. You can also round to get a nice percent number such as 25 percent.

If you are trying to put in a percent lets say you have to find 47% of 80. You just multiply .47 * 80= 38.4

A percentage increase from a value a to a value b is defined as

Percent increase=(b-a)/a*100 percent.

In your case it is (200-70)/70=1.857. Multiply this number by 100 and append the percent symbol. Thus increase=185.7 percent or about 186 percent.

Sorry to disappoint you, but there is no such button or command on the TI8x family of calculators.

ok. first things first, percent mens, out of 100. you simply replace the percent with fractions. say you have $400. your workers get 20% of the money made each day. 20 out of 100=1/5 of 100.so your workers get 1/5 of the money which is 400 divided by 5 wich equals 80. i hope this helps. if you still have trouble, serch on the internet for the formula for calculating percent.

you are actually telling the calc to do 100-10 then convert it to percent. so 100-10 is 90 and what percent is this would be 9000%, but if you actually mean 900% then you have to have a switch turned on that makes it advance the decimal place on the 100 and not the 10%. i would read the users manual in detail, not just about the % but everything or maybe start changing the swtiches and see where you end up.
