I've repaired similar faults in the past and the problem has been foreign objects stuck inside the mechanism - usually pieces of paper / labels that have come off CD's.
Moral of the story - write on your CDr's with a marker pen, DON'T put on sticky labels.
If a car CD Player stops reading CD's, the LAST thing that will get dirt is the laser lens. For cleaning the Optical Pick-up of the CDPLAYER You'll have to disassemble it completely and clean the internal mirrors. If you don't know how to do this, or you don't have the tools, take it to a service center or you can run the risk of breaking the entire laser mechanism (it cost a lot of $$$ to replace, specially in a car CDplayer).
looks like the tray is offline so basiclly its not reading the first disc because its far away from the eye so by putting another disc in and it reads it because the eye is close enough to read it . u may have to open the player up to get the first disc out. good luck.
hi, you can release the magazine by inserting a small flat head screwdriver in the slot and pushing the lever towards the back of the unit, this will release the cd but only if ther is not one stuck in the player as it will remain halfway between the mag and the cdplayer. don't force it to comae out. remember to obviously have the dorr to the player open before you try this.
