Heard pop while baking - control screen quit F1 error message

Oven was on bake @350 F. and we heard a pop. F1 showed on the control screen and the controls wouldn't work. Manual said that error message meant that the electronic control had detected a fault and to shut off and unplug for 30 seconds and then plug back in - and to call for service if the problem didn't go away. The controls still didn't work and it continued to beep. Hitting the clear/off button doesn't do anything - hitting clear makes the control shut off for about 15 seconds, then the bake light comes back on and it continues to beep

While it may be a cost saver, it sounds like you have read whats out on the net, for safety I would suggest hiring a pro, something like a oven you might "get it to work again" but Was it done correctly?. did you verify other componets wern't failing?. and Its fully safe and ready to go?. you dont wan't a random short or malfunction to happen when you are out and a complete malfunction happens possibly costing you a home instead of a service call..
I more than support doing it our selves, but something like a oven etc just play safe and hire a pro.

When I pushed the bake oven button on, I heard a loud pop! I thought a light bulb above my range (microwave oven bulb) blew out. Then F1 came on the range screen. We turned off the power to the range...

The F1 error code means one of two thing;either the touchpad is bad or a relay on the conrtol has shorted out. Well the loud pop and the F1,their is not doubt that a relay on the control has indeed shorted out. The fix for that is to replace teh control

I had the oven on 350 for 45 min. baking potatoes and then the oven beeped twice and F1 showed up on the screen where it had said 350 so I turned the oven off and the time then showed on the screen. ...

The manual says error code "F1" means a problem occurred in the circuitry and suggests pressing "CLEAR" to reset it. If the problem persists, contact a repair guy.
See page 19:
"This oven is equipped with a state of the art electronic oven control. Among its many features is a full time oven circuit diagnostics system. The control constantly monitors its internal circuitry as well as several crucial oven circuits to insure they are all operating correctly. If at any time one of these systems fails, the control will immediately stop operation, and beep continuously (flashing an error code of F1, F3 or F9 in the display window, if equipped). Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press CLEAR to clear the display and stop the beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number, press CLEAR and contact an authorized servicer."

What does code F1 mean?

HI. This is a basic communication issue that will concern, either the control board, or touch/Key pad assembly. Normally, this will produce a stuck key, which will cause one of the power relays to become suspended.

Determine if The problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:

1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting the key pad Ribbon Cable from control(main), and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

NOTE_ Some models incorporate the touch/Key pad into the ERC as a single assembly(Whole device), in which case this test is not necessary. Simply replace the ERC (Clock).

Frigidaire range model #fgfl67dcf needs to be calabrated, too hot for setting

OVEN CALIBRATION Set the electronic oven control for normal baking at 350°F. Obtain an average oven temperature after a minimum of 5 cycles. Press CANCEL or CLEAR to end bake mode. TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT 1. Set EOC to bake at 550°F. 2. Within 5 seconds of setting 550°F, press and hold the bake pad for approximately 15 seconds until a single beep is heard (longer may cause F11 shorted keypad alarm). 3. Calibration offset should appear in the display. 4. Use the slew keys to adjust the oven temperature up or down 35°F in 5°F increments. 5. Once the desired (-35° to 35°) offset has been applied, press CANCEL or CLEAR. Note: Changing calibration affects both Speed Bake and normal bake modes. The adjustments made will not change the self-cleaning temperature.

Replaced bake unit in Frigidaire FEF366DCA yesterday and when I turned on to bake @ 350 I heard a "pop" and the oven would not heat past 300 in quite some amount of time. Is it a blown fuse? And if so...

the pop is most likely an electrical short it will be in the back of the stove, that is unless your new element shorted .when cool you can run your hand around it and you should feel no blisters, smooth only.other wise you are doing a visiual inspection and looking for an obivous burnt wire/connection.God bless ,tom
