all Dyson's have a thermal breaker built in them,,witch means if there is a blockage it will stop working to protect the motor it will reset itself if you leave it for 30 minutes to cool down,,.
you can go to: http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=51&product=DC22-MOTORHEAD-US, this a section for troubleshooting for dyson. You must clena any clogged from hose, bag.or blockage, Clean the filter. In most time, the machine has a thermic switch or thermal fuse, Inspect or test and replace or reset. God bless you
Most Dyson cleaners have a thermal cut-out to protect the motor from overheating in the event of a restriction to the airflow. So, if anything causes it to overheat, it will switch off. If this happens, leave the cleaner switched off for at least two hours, as it will not start again until it has cooled down.
The most common cause of a cut-out is that the cleaner has a blockage or the filter needs washing.A high room temperature may also trigger it.Before you continue vacuuming, ensure the filter is clean and there are no blockages. You can download the user guide at www.dyson.co.uk/support/.Just click on 'Get Expert Help' then 'Using my Dyson product' then 'User Guide'.
If this does not solve the issue you may have a bad switch or motor.
All Dyson vacuum cleaners are fitted with a thermal cutout, which will switch off the motor if it becomes too hot. This is normally caused by a lack of airflow to the motor, i.e caused by a blockage or a dirty filter.
I would make sure that you have completed the full blockage procedure and have thoroughly washed the filter and see if this helps.
Our machines are fitted with a thermal cutout switch. This will activate if the motor on your machine becomes too hot. This is caused by a lack of airflow to the motor, which is caused by a dirty filter or a blockage. Leave your machine for up to 2 hours, if it then switches back on, this is the most likely cause of the problem you are experiencing. Try washing your filter and checking for blockages.
If the problem continues, please contact our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK) or 1866MYDYSON (US).

There is no reset switch. First try a different electrical outlet. If that doesn't work, you may have to replace the power switch. Call the Dyson Helpline, they'll register your vacuum cleaner and direct you to your nearest repair dealer.
If your machine turned off whilst you were using it you have a blockage in the machine and you are experiencing a Thermal cut-off. Call the Dyson Helpline, they will talk you through looking for a blockage and help you find it.
It is probably a thermal cut-off which is caused by a blockage. The machine will turn itself off before it overheats if it is a thermal cut-off. Once it has cooled down, you will be able to turn it back on again (usually 30 mins - 1 hour).
If the machine doesn't turn on at all anymore, you may need to replace the power switch. Call the Dyson helpline, they will do a blockage troubleshoot and if it's not that, they will tell you where you can find an authorized Dyson repair dealer in your area.
Hello,
I sounds that your thermal fuse is cutting out. By no means try to bypass this thermal fuse. It protects your product from catching on fire. Replace the thermal fuse at a service center. How old is this product?
Okay,
