Unlocked iphone no wifi

i was bought an unlocked iphone for xmas. Live in UK and my prepaid sim from another network and not O2 who are the official rip off carrier works perfect for making calls and texts.
however I cannot connect to internet, you tube, maps etc.
even via my home wireless broadband?
any help?

- Hi im from argentina and i have the gray wifi problem, i can recieve and make call and sms but still grey wifi...i have an iphone 8gb firm 1.1.4 modem firmware 04.04.05_G bootloader vers 3.9_M3S2 ( all this taken from bbinfo )
Previusly activate and jb with ziphone 2,5 and tested de wifi fix from iLiberty an ziphone 3,0

are you on 1.1.4/3? if not upgrade, if you are on a mac use ZiPhone if on a pc use ZiPhone or iLiberty+
unlock jailbreak and activate
on iLib install wifi edge and bluetooth fix and the installer
if that does not work then backup music, restore and retry

download the latest version of ziphone and install. just click "do it all" and that should do all the rest.... if this does not fix it.. email me... raffylaguesma@hotmail.com

Wow, all of a sudden I have no Wifi. I even restored my iPhone to original 1.1.4 firmware. Is there a problem?

i recently upgraded to 1.1.3 and afterwards (from 1.1.2) and now neither the wifi or bluetooth are activated. You can see the names, but the system does not show that they can be used. Bluetooth shows 00.0.000.000.00.00 as the address.
