Did you put a battery in the mouse? Did you set the doo-hickey? (Wireless Receiver)

I also refer to stuff as a 'Doo-Hickey' sometimes. That, and when I'm angered, a few colorful metaphors seems to cover a lot of technical terms!

Yes, the Wireless Receiver that snaps into the mouse. Snaps in for convenient storage when you're on the go. Comes out when you use the mouse.

Can I use a Wireless mouse without the USB thing?

No Lena, I am afraid you can't and if you can't find that little USB bit, the mouse is just a paperweight. The mouse sends signals to that little USB thing which is a receiver for the signals from the mouse.

The mouse often has a little storage indent in the bottom of the mouse to store the receiver, so could someone have removed it from the computer stored it for you? On my Logitech mouse, the indent is under the battery cover. It sounds like you have two computers, so check both for the receiver.

How do your put the mouse wheel back together?

You may not be able to. Was there some reason you took it apart? Did it break?
The wheel should have little bars coming out the side. These will seat into the mouse-wheel niche at the sides, allowing the wheel to rotate. You then put back the little silver cover over the wheel. If it works, you're gold. If not, you may have to get another mouse, or live without the wheel.

Hi. All you do is plug the little USB plug into one of the USB slots on your computer and install the batteries in the mouse. That's it.

Keyboard and mouse not working

On the bottom of the mouse is a tiny little button that says connect or reconnect...press that to finish the connection process. Sometimes that very same little tiny button is on the bottom of the transmitter, look to see and press. You can best push the button with a pen or pencil.
Check to see that your batteries are in correctly also.
I hope this helps and does the trick for you.
Good luck and please leave a rating, thank you kindly...
