I smell antifreeze and when i turn off truck radiator bubbling


The bubbling sound in your radiator sounds like boiling water, An overheated engine. The smell is likely the vapors from the boiling water. Could have a blown head gasket or a cracked head as a result, but let it cool down for a couple of hours and check the coolant level, add if necessary and try it again If it doesn't bubble it should be ok

My 2000 chrysler voyager radiator fluid bubbles in radiator overflow tank evn when cold nd when turning over. I just had head gasket replaced whats going on


I suspect a crack in the head or block. The cooling system is suppose to be closed so any air has to be coming from somewhere - if the head gasket is good then the air is likely to be coming from a crack. A pressure test will confirm if your system is not air tight. That is if you are seeing bubbles in the radiator water if you just mean you are losing water through the overflow then it might just be the radiator cap needs replacing as it is not sealing the system when it gets hot.

Not quite sure what you are hoping to achieve here - the bubble is to help you level the tripod, and by its very nature when centred will indicate this. Once you have levelled the tripod, adjust the head (pan and tilt, or ball and socket) until the camera is also level. It is possible to purchase a three-way level that fits in the hot shoe.

Try this.

With the engine cool remove the radiator cap. Now start the engine and let it warm up to the point where the thermostat opens. You can usually tell when this happens by checking the temperature of the upper radiator hose, and the coolant level in the radiator. It will start getting a lot hotter quickly when it does and the coolant level should drop.

While the engine is warming up, watch the coolant in the radiator for air bubbles. Fill up the radiator as needed while continuing to watch the coolant level. Having the radiator cap off while doing this allows the trapped air to escape more easily. If you do have a large air blockage then when the thermostat opens you should see a large drop in the coolant level. You want to keep the Radiator full. Once the air bubbles seem to have stopped you can replace the radiator cap.

You may have to repeat the process a couple times if there is a large amount of air trapped in multiple pockets.

A cracked head or block you can usually diagnose as there will be a lot of small bubbles coming out constantly while the engine is warming up, and even more bubbles if you rev the engine higher as the compressed air/fuel will be forced into the cooling system.

Hello, I am the owner of a 2005 jaguar x-type. Upon start up when driving away I notice a "gurgling" sound coming from the engine in the location of the glove box.


Sounds like air in cooling system. Coolant comes through to back of glove box area for your heat supply.
Have you noticed less available heat than normal?

Check the coolant level in radiator, not just the top up bottle. DO THIS WHEN ENGINE IS COLD as hot system is under pressure.

Possibility of head gasket leak suppling gases to coolant system. IF so may be producing some persistant heavy white steamy exhaust, though not necessarily.

Topping up coolant will (should) make noise go away at least temporarily. You should look to see if any obvious leaks or wet spots at hose clamps and heater hose connections.

When engine is cold, open Radiator cap, look down (flash light helps?) to see fluid level, should be full to top.
If not, top up with correct coolant mix, leaving cap off, start motor and allow to idle till warm. If level drops top off some more. Watch the fluid as it flows past cap opening. a few bubbles for a few mins may be normal, but continous stream of bubbles indicate head gasket leak. Turn on the heat in car to full, (not the fan, just heat level) gently rev the engine and top up fluid at same time, (2 people) replace cap. Done. If there are no apparent problems.

If noise returns or does not go away, you'll need a professional inspection.

Trying to adjust headlights on a 2000 Plymouth Grand Voyager


On drivers side, Look for holes in rad support above headlights and you'll see a bubble level. Behind light housing you'll find small hex, or torx head screw just left and behind bubble level area. That's Horizontal adjustment. Now go over to right about 3 " from bubble level,just past where headlight mount is attached and look down hole for another hex, or torx screw head. That's vertical adjustment. Passenger side location will be obvious after finding drivers side adjustments.

Replaced the broken radiator its still over heating


good be the thermostant. if that has the v6 engine 3.8 then have a block test done you may have warped a head, these engines are none for head problems when they are overheated.

Hello,
After your exhaustive tasks I feel one of two things are left to rule out.
First, have you an air lock? did you bleed the cooling system after installation of parts? if not try parking on level ground, with engine cold not running remove coolant filler cap and top up if required to correct level.
Start the vehicle and leave to idle with cap off, have plenty of hot water available, when at operating temperature you may here gurgling and see bubbles in the cooling system Beware not to get too close as it will hopefully boil over, after it does top up with warm water and wait, keep blower on full and heat to max inside vehicle.
It may boil/bubble over a few times before settling if so top up and replace cap once settled.
Finally if an abundant amount of air bubbles are continually visible and regular bubbling over then unfortunately the cylinder head or gasket could be at fault.
I hope this points you in the correct area.

Checking level accuracy


You do not need to replace it. If it does not read the same when you reverse it, on one end there are a nut over and under the tube and plug assembly. Adjust those up or down until it reads the same.
