The Wolfgang Puck BDRC0010 10-Cup Rice Cooker will stop automatically when the rice is cooked. The rice will be ready when the switch pops up to Warm. The average time would be about 20 minutes.
I hope this helps.

I need insturctions on using the avon rice cooker for microwave

1. Before cooking, optionally rinse or soak the rice. This is necessary for some types of rice (especially brown rice, which is much harder than white rice), but it improves the flavor and texture of most types. To rinse, put the desired amount of dry rice in a container and fill it up with cold water. Use clean hands to sift the rice in the water. Drain and repeat. To soak, put the desired amount of dry rice in a container and fill it up with cold water. Let stand for 30 minutes, and then drain.
2.Mix rice and water in a microwave-safe container. A good place to start is two parts water for every part of rice (e.g., 2 cups rice to 4 cups water). You can adjust the ratio through experimentation, depending on how dry or moist you prefer your rice, the power of your microwave and the size/shape of the container.
3.Enhance the rice with flavor. Add salt, vegetable oil, olive oil or butter before cooking. A teaspoon of salt/vegetable oil or 1/2 tablespoon of butter should do the trick for each cup of rice.
4. Stir the rice mixture slowly with a wooden spoon. Combine the ingredients thoroughly. This is especially important if you have added other ingredients for flavoring.
5.Cover the rice. Place in the microwave and set the timer. Here are some suggested guidelines for a 700 watt microwave and white rice:

  • 1/2 cup rice, 9 minutes
  • 3/4 cup rice, 12 minutes
  • 1 cup rice, 16 minutes
  • 1 1/4 cups rice, 20 minutes
  • 1 1/2 cups rice, 23 minutes6
6. For brown rice, start with three cups of boiling water per cup of rice and cook it for 25 minutes
7. Let the rice sit in the microwave for five minutes after it turns off. Don't open the door. The steam will complete the cooking process. You might observe that the rice grains start to orient themselves vertically, like they're "saluting".
8. Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

hop you enjoy it

Rice is mushy, I have cut the water down by one cup and it is still mushy. 2 cups rice 4 cups water down to 3 cups water

If you are using regular rice, it is 1 cup of rice for 2 cups of water. Bring the combo to a hard boil and then reduce the heat to a slow simmer for 20min, stirring ocassionally.
If you are using "Minute Rice", it is 1cup of water to 1cup of rice. Bring the water to a hard boil, turn off the heat and add the rice. Cover for 5min. Fluff with a fork.

Need directions on how make rice on my oster rice cooker

There are many types of rice. Follow specific directions for variety used.
2. Accurately measure rice and water then combine in rice bowl.
Pour specified amount of water in water reservoir. Cover and steam.
3. For softer rice, increase by 1 – 2 tablespoons the water mixed with rice
by the specified amount of water on the chart. For firmer rice decrease
water mixed with rice by the same amount.
4. Check doneness and consistency of rice at minimum time specified
for each type, stirring rice at the same time.
5. When checking/stirring rice, be careful not to drip the condensate into the
rice bowl which would reduce the quality and flavor of the steamed rice.
6. Use only clean water in water reservoir
7. Rice may be seasoned with salt, pepper or butter after steaming.

Lost my instruction book...want instructions to make rice in cooker...ratio of rice and water please

I have a Toastmaster 3 cup rice cooker but think the ratio would be the same.
Long grain white rice - 2 rice measuring cups - water to 2 cup line = 8 (1/2 cup) servings
3 rice measuring cups - water to 3 cup line = 12 (1/2 cup) servings

Long grain brown rice - 1 1/2 Rice measuring cups - water to 3 cup line - 6 (1/2 cup) servings

For fluffy rice: After cooker shuts off, allow rice to stand for approx. 15 minutes, covered, before serving.

Hope this helps

Rival automatic steamer rice cooker 4450 guide needed

Here's all the info I've been able to find:

The older Rival rice cooker steamer should have a base, a lid, steamer basket, and rice bowl.

To cook rice, fill center basin of base with water. Place the rice bowl on basin. Add rice and water as follows. For white rice add water in a 1:1 ratio to rice plus 1/2 cup. For brown rice add water in a 1:1 ratio to rice plus 3/4 cup. Examples: 1 cup white rice, 1-1/2 cup water; 2 cups brown rice, 2-3/4 cups water. Put lid on and plug in and in about 50 minutes you should have delicious rice.

Timing is Everything
Whether using the Rival Steamer for a main dish or for a side dish, cooking is easy. But not Fast. Rice and steamed vegetables actually take twice as long to cook in this steamer. The simplicity comes since you add your rice or vegetables in one step. No waiting for one thing to happen before you can do the next. Put water and fruits, vegetables, fish, poultry or rice in the basket or bowl that come with the unit, cover, plug in and wait for the light to go off per the timing chart.
1/4 cup water takes 6 -7 minutes
1/2 cup water takes 10-12 minutes
3/4 cup water takes 16-17 minutes
1 cup water takes 19-22 minutes
1.25 cups water takes 24-26 minutes
1.5 cups water takes 26-30 minutes
2 cups water takes 38-39 minutes
2.5 cups water takes 43-44 minutes

Add milk alternately with dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Fold nuts into batter. Pour into greased 8"x4" loaf pan. Cover pan with aluminum foil. Place pan in steamer basket. Cover and steam until wooden pick inserted near center comes out clean. Serve warm with **Marshmallow Cream Sauce. Water: 1 cup. Time: 19-22 min.
