Could be the heat sensor switch ir faulty, no problem as it keeps the CPU cool.

I can asure you that is a good thing. Over cook the CPU and you have lost your Poota.

Can have it replaced.

Hi,

It is normal for the fan to kick in to cool the processor, but it sounds to me like the CPU fan and the air vents need a good cleaning.

Noisy fans and them running for a length of time means that its having to be on more to keep the processor cool.
Other causes of the fan being loud and on constantly is gaming and heavy programs. The more the processor has to work the hotter it will get, thus the fan being on all the time.

Have a look at your air vents and the CPU fan for dust. If you see any dust then you will need a can of compressed air to blast through the vents and CPU fan blades free of dust.

Removing the dust from the machine usually quietens them down.

Regards.

Another reason the fan can stay on constantly is having them sat on a soft surface like a duvet cover for example.
Having them sat on surfaces like that will prevent the laptop from getting any air causing the fan to be on all the time and ultimately overheating.
If your going to use them on a soft surface sit the laptop on a thick magazine so it can breath.

How to disassemble an Asus N50V laptop to replace the motherboard

You can go to http://www.asus.com/support and try to obtain a copy of their assembly manual for your laptop. I'm pretty sure that it is not available. Without step-by-step assembly/dis-assembly instructions I do not recommend that you attempt to replace the motherboard. There are too many compnents which must be removed (and replaced) in a sequene that you do not know. Also, there are many tiny screws and other holding devices you would have to find and remove. If you did succeed in removing the board (without damaging anything) you might not remember everythiing that has to be done to install the new one. If a computer repair store was to agree to replace the board, it would cost you more than the computer is worth!

Contact Asus and ask their advice regarding laptop mothrboard replacement.

Eee 1005ha keyboard and touchpad suddenly freezes at random times

Mine does the same. I don't know what it is. It's not that it's frozen up because every program I'm running continues to run and when I press the power off button it brings up the choices to turn off restart or stand by.

My new gateway laptop fan runs continuously. it

Why do you think it is a problem? It is perfectly normal for laptops to get hot. That is the reason coolpads were invented. If you have a waterbed available, try using the laptop while it is sitting directly on the mattress. The water acts like a giant heat sink and the computer will stay much cooler.

My Asus Laptop M2400N Will not boot up

If it boots in safe mode it means there's something the the startup causing problems. To find it, start in safe mode - run MSCONFIG from the run command - Select the Startup Tab - click diable all - reboot. If its till doesn't startup do the same with the services tab. from here its a process of elimination. Tick boxes on and reboot. You should then identify what's causing the problem - also check the event viewer in safe mode as that may also provide a clue.

Opened my lap top HP dv9000 black screen sounded like it was running, I shut down then tried to reboot, starts to reboot then cuts off then tries to reboot and continues this cycle

Try starting the laptop in safe mode.
This is done by pressing F8 while the computer is starting. You will be presented with an option screen and should in the first instance choose safe mode. If the laptop boots you can then check the hardware for faults. If you are not getting past the initial bios boot screen it would be worthwhile downloading the latest bios firmware from the HP web site and installing this.

Cpu fan noisy /chip fan fail

You must buy a new CPU Fan. You can get them HERE or a zillion other places on the Internet. You need a Socket 939 type fan that will handle your cpu speed. If you need help installing it, it may be in the manual. You can read the manual by clicking on the picture of your MB at the top of this post and then scrolling down.

Hope that fixed ya...
