Try to reset the unit by either pressing on a reset button / hole if it has one or take out the batteries and wait 5 minutes, place them back in and try to turn it on again. What you could also do if the player is detected by the computer but it won't turn on is try to update its firmware, the firmware update instructions are here http://www.memorex.com/PageFiles/1004/Mmp9390_Mmp9490_Firmware_Upgrade_Procedure%5B1%5D.pdf pdf reader required to open the document http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/ and the firmware itself is here http://www.memorex.com/PageFiles/1004/Mmp9390_Mmp9490_V019.rar Winrar required to open the container. http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html If your unit is completely dead and it does not react at all, to anything and is not picked up by the computer. The battery has power or it doesn't react to the charger or replacing the batteries with new ones. Then your unit seems to be faulty, contact your dealer for a replacement or repair, it sounds like the unit is brand new? I'm sure they will replace it right away. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks, Ekse

Sorry, my solution seems to have turned into a big pile of test, let me re-write that..

Try to reset the unit by either pressing on a reset button / hole if it
has one or take out the batteries and wait 5 minutes, place them back
in and try to turn it on again.

What you could also do if the player is detected by the computer but it
won't turn on is try to update its firmware, the firmware update
    instructions are here

    http://www.memorex.com/PageFiles/1004/Mm...

pdf reader required to open the document

    http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/reader/

and the firmware itself is here

    http://www.memorex.com/PageFiles/1004/Mm...

Winrar required to open the container.

If your unit is completely dead and it does not react at all, to
anything and is not picked up by the computer. The battery has power or
it doesn't react to the charger or replacing the batteries with new
    ones.

Then your unit seems to be faulty, contact your dealer for a
replacement or repair, it sounds like the unit is brand new? I'm sure
they will replace it right away.

How to restart touchmp

On the bottom right side on the unit there is a hole which near it says 'reset'. Take a needle a safety pin or something of the sort, press the pointy part into the hold till you feel that you pressed something.
Good Luck!

Memorex video/mp3 player

I work for Memorex tech support. Our number is 800-919-3647.

You can't sync the Memorex player to iTunes, however, you can copy music from your iTunes library for use on your Memorex. First you must convert the music you want to copy into .mp3 format since iTunes uses a different format (AAC) as its default. Follow the instructions below to change the import settings in iTunes:

1. Choose Edit> Preferences, click the General tab, then click Import Settings.

2. Choose MP3 Encoder from the Import Using pop-up menu.

Once that's done, go back to your library and highlight the songs you want to convert. Once they're highlighted, right-mouse click and you'll see an option for Create MP3 version. This will not effect iTunes ability to play the music and if you have an iPod, it will not be effected either. After the conversion is finished, I suggest draging the songs you want for your Memorex player to a folder on your desktop. These .mp3 files can be copied onto your player and will play just fine.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Cant get songs onto memorex mmp9008 using mac osx

The ITunes filters all music so it goes only (like WM and RP does) into their compatible, licensing paying devices. Just save the songs (MP3 or Wav) outside the ITunes folder and upload it directly into the 9008 or any other MP3 compatible.

Won't turn OFF

If it continues to give u problems, I would return or exchange it. I haven't seen it so I don't know if there's a soft reset button on it.

My Memorex DVD player will not open or come on

I just fixed a Memorex 2042 DVD player. Before the fix, the standby light was lit, nothing else works (with remote or buttons on the player panel). Opened up the machine, saw a capacitor bulged (1000uf/10v). Did some soldering work and replaced it. All is fine now.

Turn off the player and let charge for about 4 hrs via USB port. This will charge the battery.

To upload songs to the player plug in to USB port and look for the removable drive through my computer or windows explorer. drag and drop MP3s into to removable drive window.
