Question about Vanguard International VN18B Infra-Red Heater

Open Question

I need a new igniter button that is located on the top of the heater. Where can I order one? The button quit working and I paid $80 for a technician to to come out and tell me the battery was dead. Ever since, the ingniter switch does not want to work and now it is like the control that fits over the battery is stripped. It want lock into place. It just keeps turning and turning. This prevents connection to the battery and therefore the heater wont light. Please tell me where I can order another one. I cant afford another servce call plus parts. Thanks! PS this heater was bought in Feb and hardly ever used.

My camper water heater quit working. It has a Suburban water heater and when it quit working the reset switch did not light up. On/off does nothing. Do you think it is the switch or something else?

You didn't state if it was an electronic ignition type or not. You didn't state if it was AC + LP either. Assuming it is LP only and has electronic ignition, and the light is not coming on I would first look for a 12V fuse for the water heater. If you are lucky that might be all that it is.

The fuse would normally be located in the Charger/Converter Breaker/Fuse panel.

Beyond that you would have to start testing with a meter or test light to see if you have voltages to the unit.

It is common for the ignition boards to go out too. But those are a bit pricey. If you aren't handy electronically, have a meter, and a wiring diagram, it might be worth having a qualified technician troubleshoot this for you.

Unknown if this is new installation or older installation that stopped working, so we're guessing

I have a kenmore series 80 dryer that the heat has quit working. can you help

have you?.....Checked voltage, checked the thermal fuse, hi limit thermastat on the heater housing
Checked the element to make sure it isn't broken.
If it is newer have you checked the heater relay and or the circuit board beside the timer. and lastly make sure your dryer can vent out. Relays and board are in he control panel.

Best of luck. if you can't do these checks yourself you may need a qualified service technician to help you out.

How much does a new sensor cost?

Ignition sensor-about 70-80 dollars
temp sensor-about 50-60 dollars
These are two of the sensors in a heater. Price is about what the price is in my part of the world. You should find out what sensor and check local prices before you bank on Arizona prices. As they could change quite a bit depending where you live in the world.
